Is there any way this can last a month? Or at least three weeks? Just over a week is such a short time to try to make a game. I will try, anyways. Thanks.
It used to be a month, but this year we're trying to nip scope creep and fading motivation in the bud! I think you'd be surprised at what you can make in a week.
Glad to see that it's happening this year too. I likely won't have more than a couple of hours to make something, but if possible I'll try to enter just to get the numbers up. The theme last year was really interesting to me but unfortunately I didn't get around to contributing. Anyway, good luck with everything! Looking forward to the announcement video too, those are always hilarious
Oh yes, please do, that would be grand. We're holding an in-person portion locally for the first two days, with a major push for basic prototype functionality by the end of that period. Kind of like a 48-hour jam. And then the rest of the time for polish. Maybe that approach would help?
Not sure the single week's length was better or worse. Turnout's been a bit low the last couple times. Guys have any input? Is it the prize? Or is everyone just too busy these days? Might put the ol' thing out to pasture...

Sorry I couldn't enter this time after all. But I hope that you keep The Buswick running. For every person who submitted a finished game, a lot more people will have started something. You never know what you inspired just by providing a theme, inspiration and a reason to start working on something. Almost every game I've made was jump started by a competition/jam - even if I rarely actually made the deadline.
You got a good turnout at the meetup at the university, right? Perhaps you could think about The Buswick in a slightly different way, as something that gets imaginations... creative thinkybrains... working and allows people to hang out at the university for a day or two.
Yeah, turnout to UC wasn't bad. I may just cut back a bit on the production, or do it less regularly. I always manage to be making the video right in the middle of a move or busy work stretch.
