Being off work until next year, and my friends not being, I've had a shitload of free time, a lot of which has been spent working on Zombies Now, which now looks like it will be finished in the forseeable future.
The first level is very near completion now after the complete engine overhaul a couple of months ago. Well, it was originally planned as just an engine overhaul, but I ended up replacing a lot of the graphics also, most noticably the zombies have been completey remodelled and reanimated (excuse the pun).
There are also some major additions to the game, the main one being THE FREAKING CAR!!! Yeah, that's right, Ralph Kippel, like any self-repecting zombie killer, has his own car to drive about in and run zombies over, assuming he has enough petrol. The car was pretty much an impulse decision a few days ago. In the original engine, the car was not drivable, it was merely a device to get to the next level. Well the other day I just thought, sod it, I'll make it so you can drive about the place. So I did. And it's damn fun, too.
One last note, regarding the filesize. I've managed to reduce the filesize with the efficiency of the new engine, it's a few meg over half the size of the demo I released, which was about 26mb. So doing well so far with all the shit I'm managing to squeeze in.
Though most times when you sell games, you kind of DONT want people to know its a click game, because you want people to know you programed it via code.
