ok so, there was this game demo a long while back, and had an auto-aiming feature, and i was wondering if i could borrow that engine from the maker, or if someone could make a simple but customizable auto-aiming engine in TGF for me, tis would be very helpful, and thx in advance for anyone that helps me
for some weird reason, i couldn't edit my post above
anyways shab, yes, it's for top down, but i wasn't exactly looking for 32, more like 360 degree, but 32 is fine for now, i really should have included a more detailed description of what i wanted , how stupid of me
------------------------------------
ok so this is what i wanted
top down auto-aiming engine, where if the player presses a button it turns on the auto-aiming feature, and pressing it again would turn it off
the engine should target the closest enemy, and upon pressing a button after having turned on the auto-aiming, it would switch to the next nearest enemy
umm, i'd prefer 360 degree aiming, but if 32 is all you can do for now, that's fine too, but of course, alternatively, upgrading from 32 to 360 afterwards would just as good
hmm, anything else . . . not right now, but if there's anything else, i'll reply
Yeah, I use TGF w/ no extensions so 360 is a little out of my range (unless I use Radix's method, which introduces it's own problems.)

There's the non-open source of one version or another of Hell House. They all use the same lock on system though.
wow, i think that's exactly waht i wanted, i couldn't really notice the lack of 360 aiming when in close encounters shooting, but it's noticible only from afar, otherwise, i think this is all i need for my project, of course with a few of my own tweaks to the engine
otherwise, phizzy's computer is crap, because i just finished playing for a good while, and without crash, it's actually quite smooth for having such a large resolution, i didn't exactly expect that from TGF you've pleased me! i was having lots of fun playing your game
I'm willing to bet you'd like the REAL Hell House then, that was a half step, red headed bastard child of the original. The real one you have to use the auto aim to survive, cause you're fighting at least 15 enemies at once (usually).
Think Factor X mixed with this version and you'll see what I mean.
sooo...is it safe to say that you're working on an engine for me? shab? or are you sleeping? i'm just anxious to play around with it and see what i can come up with, right now it's spring break for me, so i gots of time to work on game stuff, meaning i'm working on game sprites and the like, plus i've been thinking up iso/top down shooter games
but i'm in no rush, so as long as you get that engine on to my computer(preferably before next week), i'm happy but anytime is fine with me too

wowowowow! thx for the auto-aiming engine man, i really appreciate it a lot, now all i have to do is learn, and understand all of it's code so that i can make my own, and i was wondering, where's the auto-aiming in radix's method? i couldn't really find a button for it in the events editor
