Hey everyone. I've been using the MCI device recently for midi in a certain game.
I've gotten it to pause when the application pauses but I can't get the damn thing to resume when resuming. I keep trying the command "resume leveltheme"(the midi has the alias leveltheme) but nothing happens. "Play leveltheme" carries the music on where it left off but for some reason it forgets all the instruments so everything is played on piano.
I tried changing the resume command in the options but still nothing.
GRR. Why does nothing ever work the way it says it does?

i've never used mci in any of my games. Can't figure out how it works.
after all, why care if you've got mmf to play it over frames... i don't need anything else than that.

I gave up on it.
I was actually using it so that I wouldn't get that annoying freeze you get when MMF loads a new built in midi, and also so that I could speed the midi up during playback. But the thing was a pain in the ass, it chopped the start off midis, wouldn't resume etc so I went with the MMF default midi player again.
ModFX 2 was pretty good for midi playback, had no freeze time and the midi looped flawlessly, no gaps when restarting it, but the damn thing would play one midi at the start and once you tried to play any other midi it just gave an error!

Why not just use DMC2? It's my favourite music playing extension. It may be a bit old but it does the job.
