If you know Hearts of Iron 2 doomsday or Axis & Allies you know what I mean.
Otherwise I would be just gladly able to settle with Axis & Allies but the World War 2 mode doesn't have multiplayer and has got a bad A.I.
But I guess you need possibly a description what kind of game I mean so here goes...
There are sectors and your armies are in them, you move and produce armies and attack the enemies armies with your own in other sectors, you can conduct diplomacy to gain allies, barter, gain military access, etc, You gain resources and money from sectors, you can build your own facilities and in Hearts of Iron 2 there are historical events where you can sometimes decide what you could do like would you commence the "Anschluss of Austria".
Of course these kind of games can be a lot simpler like my Axis & Allies game has got only these aspects in the board phase:
- military production
- money income from sectors
- different kind of armies
- tech research
- army upgrading(adding air army for infantry for example.)
Those where the worth mentioning aspects but of course a navy is a must.
I would prefer this kind of game to be based on either of the World Wars but even a post World War 2 game would be interesting or a World War 2 and post World War 2 game would be interesting.
If there are no these kind of games or projects going on I think I could start making either a turn-based boardgame or even a real-time boardgame for either of these subjects. Any help would be appreciated. I was thinking that me and my brother could make the graphics for this kind of game but I think I could do something else as well. I am not still certain if I have the motivation to start this kind of long project and I was hoping that there already would be this kind project so I wouldn't need to do such a long project, but if there are no projects for this kind of game or nobody will be interested to start without my aid I will inform you if I start making this kind of game or not. I suspect that I will most likely have just motivation for scenarios but not grand campaigns like the Finnish Winter War.
Two last things:
- The more the countries the better
- There can be more detailed battles like you can involve in the battles or there just simply would be a more detailed view of the combat.
The U.S.'s army is efficient in advancing but what happens in guerilla warfare?
I was thinking of doing a civilization style board game, but I couldn't figure out how to do the AI right. And I was too lazy to figure out how to do the map generator too.
