They always make movies based on video games.......well they have made a few! But now they have made HITMAN the MOVIE! it is about agent 47 killing people with his bald head......he rams them and then shoots them! its cool! its awsome! its groovy! i have given you all a cool frickin video of it! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvvylY_lyKs&feature=related#
This movie was made last year I believe?
Anyway I've seen it - it's not great, but it was better than I expected it to be. Agent 47 isn't as much of a badass as he is in the video games either..
They should have had a more bulky actor for 47 like jason statham the guy out of the transporter, but iam a big fan of the hitman games so even if the film was or is craptastic i will still like it because its based on the game.
Honestly, I don't think you can EVER get a good movie based on a game. Games are fun because they're interactive. A game based on a movie could be fun, but it's not as fun to watch someone having all the fun. Books and comics can make damn good transitions to movies though.

almost every game based on a movie is complete shyte (with some exceptions). the only game, based on a movie, that was based on a book (thats like the trifecta!!) that was actually fun was EA's Lord of the rings hack n slash games. imo.
I liked it because I like Hitman. Instead of all those guys, they should have just gotten the guy they based 47 off of to play him, he even does the voice (I'm in love with that man's voice) in the games.
Certainly better than it could have been, I liked the double blind the movie pulled; but it had a few groan inducing moments (Sword fight). The guy they did get to play him looked like he was 13 with his head shaved.
Haven't gotten a chance to pick up the unrated DVD yet, but you can be assured I will at some point; I tend to buy all the videogame movies at some point, regardless of how horrible they are (House of the Dead, etc.).
his name is timothy oliphant.
you may recognize him from live free or die hard?
it also isnt that it was a horrible movie. some parts were done well. but the rest of the movie was so overly cheesy.
almost as bad as the transporter two. it just ruined the whole movie for me.
That "horrible" comment wasn't aimed at Hitman, it's certainly one of the higher tiered VG movies. But VG movies by and large are horrible, the first RE and this movie being pretty good exceptions to the rule.
I hear you on Transporter 2 as well, they 80'd Action Xtremed all over that movie. I was concerned that Hitman was gonna suffer the same problem after the trailers (OMG Helicopter, BOOM BOOM, Dual Sub Machine Gun), but it kept itself incheck for the most part.

it's weird how Tim Oliphant seemed like a much bigger badass on deadwood despite never killing anyone throughout the whole show
