yo there brothas
lemme show you something.
http://borgi.cvk.hu/raycasting.mfa
Check this, what I made. The firs is based on my toughts. (the first frame)
The secound one is based on:
http://www.permadi.com/tutorial/raycast/
this page. I only could find out the points of the "line of sight and the grind".. (my english is poor, bit im sure u know what i mean)
as you can see it finds the points. But, I could not use in the drawing the distance between the point and the player. there wasn't any effect. And thet drawing thingy is a bit poor too.
I'm here for suggestins, critics, and commets. Or if anyone could do something cool with the source of my thingy, feel free to use it.
Hear for ya,
Borgi

Lol, raycasting. That brings me back to the first time I visited TDC and downloaded this: http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=330
So you're not the first to have tried it.
Anyway, I think it's too choppy and too awkward to make something cool out of it. You might as well use mode7 or something if you want to make that sort of simple 3D. It's a good try though.

Like Hernan said, it's not a bad example, but I can't see it being used in a game or practically. I hope it was a good programming exercise though.
