For me the appeal for the xbox360 is not just the games but being able to use windows media centre with it is a huge plus. Even just browing into the menu is just entertaining, love it!

I love my Xbox. The girlfriend kept telling me to get one so I just did one lovely day. Not bothered by the connection side of things though, I don't intend on getting a Zune and I don't stream media. So it's purely a console for me but yea. So much funs. Got it hooked up to the Bravia downstairs and its like looking at God.
Funny how we're all using the same gamertag theme though .
Well one thing this thread is kind of proving is that Xbox Live defiantly does a fine job at holding a community together. I mean just seeing all your avatars and all our signatures and us talking about it, really makes you feel like we're apart of something bigger if you will.
Btw, your girlfriend? Has been trying to convince YOU to get an Xbox 360? Damn, you're lucky. Keep an eye on her, cause you don't know what I really look like and I might take her if she feels under appreciated.
I have to say my 360 is the best console i've ever bought, even more so than my PS2 (my last favourite) - i love the games, love playing online, love the controller, love the console (mine has yet to blow up), love everything! I do still love my PS2, but i love my 360 slightly more! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Mine only cost £110 (Arcade). But I was lucky since my bro is a massive 360 addict and had spare drive I could use, and I'm using my macbook as a wifi bridge. So it all worked out peachy! He has about 50 games too so I just borrow them as I go . All in all it was a really good deal, and its another 360 for LAN parties .
The PS3 price drop was nice. It needed to be more though, they only dropped £20-50 here (depending on what SKU and store you bought it from, which is only the price of 1 new game).
The PS3 is like buying a really expensive key to the VIP room that no one really cares enough to get into. Yeah, it's nice but if no one cares to join you than what's the fun? Xbox 360 is where it's at this generation. All those people saying that the Playstation 3 can still be saved, agitate me. It's way too late in this generation to save it. We're already half way through it, since these consoles are planning to hold up till around 2013.
Considering the PS3 is still losing money per console sold, I can't see them dropping it any time soon, much less be willing to actually progress to the next generation. In fact at the press conference this year, they seemed pretty quick to jump straight into how good the Playstation 2 is still doing. What? Yeah it's a great console, but shouldn't you be more focused on the current gen? I don't see Microsoft or Nintendo babying their Xbox or Gamecube. *sigh* Maybe it's because no one can afford to buy the version of the PS3 that actually supports, badly designed, backwards compatibility.
A flame war thread? I can't refuse to chip in!
I like my PS3 because it has better exclusives (and I can get all the decent 360 games I want on the PC anyway). There, I said it.
Oh, I think I'll stick my PSN card in my signature too.
This is war.

This is probably why you should never run a business.
The reason Microsoft and Nintendo don't "baby" the Xbox and Gamecube is because nobody buys them anymore. Have you seen the sales for the PS2 lately? Yeah, they're still selling a lot of them. They're hardly just going to abandon a product that is still selling well, and concentrate on one that is not selling as well at the moment. It makes sense to drain as much cash out of the PS2 as possible, and when it dies put their full effort into the PS3.
I'm completely stunned at the fact you think the PS3 needs "saving" too - I know they don't sell more than the 360 per month, but they're not far away. I really would like to know where you get this stuff from
