Are there any good action/RPG type games made (or being made) with click software? By action/RPG I'm referring to games such as Secret of Mana or Legend of Zelda for snes, even though technically zelda is just an action game. I've only seen Fable Quest and that uses a slightly different camera angle and doesn't really look similar to the games I mentioned.

Just curious to see what others have done and what my competition is. =

There's Eternal Daughter. I don't recall any others.

Competition? You mean we're not friends? D: *teardrop*

Joking. As a matter of fact, though, there is a very noteworthy action RPG called Lost Valley that was made in MMF. For a while, it was the most popular and highly rated game in TDC, and to this day it remains one of the longest (despite the complete absence of a plot/story after the introduction).

Friendly competition of course!

Lost Valley looks interesting. I played to the second save point and noticed some design flaws right away. Walking into enemies when you enter a screen. Enemies still moving at you right after you hit them so it's tough to avoid getting hit. Using the old "rock in the way, can't go there" method of linear play and then having magic crystals that apparently can blow up the rocks when you obtain them?

There are some great elements there that do remind me of Zelda though. Thanks for mentioning it!

Design flaws in others games are easy to spot. Let's see if you can make something flaw free!

impossible. everyone has different opinions/tastes if you do something it might be perfect for one audience but horrible for another.

But you are right, you can look at design flaws in other games to help improve your own. Angry video game nerd is also an entertaining option for finding horrible flaws in games.

Well, technically it's not impossible to make a game design flaw free... I just don't think it's ever been accomplished. Sure, everyone has different tastes and such, but bad design flaws aren't really something people have mixed feelings about. If you walk into a level and a monster is right on top of you, that's a bad design flaw. That can be fixed. Nobody is going to be like "I love when monsters are right on top of you when you enter a level!"

I would like that actually, so it's not a flaw.

That most certainly is a flaw in most conditions. If you can make a game with that particular 'feature' work, then more power to you. Failure should always be the player's fault, as a (direct or indirect) result of their actions and choices.

Wandering Fighter is a great game.

My own Necropolis Rising has a lot of flaws but that's an action RPG. If you haven't yet try Lyle in Cube Sector too, that's one of my favorite games period. It's really hard though.
