Yea. They gave nodar a moment of silence, which was nice. I wonder what they'll do with the luge track.

Yeah its been all over the news here since last night. Very sad indeed, only just found out he was only 21
They need some kind of safety netting around those tracks, although at 90mph Im not sure what good that would do.

They've raised the wall and lowered the start but not sure of its fate post Olympics.
Would have been his debut as well.

I think therein lay the problem; an unexperienced luger on a dangerously fast course.

Its ridiculous, one of the best gold medalist lugers wiped out on it. Why they made the track so dangerous I have no idea. Edited by Jon C-B

It is sad and i am sure actions taken since this young man's death will make the sport safer for those who follow in his footsteps, but i guess the risk of getting hurt (or worse) helps create the buzz of sports like these, and that's what makes them so appealing.
Here's to a good olympics though!
