I've probably worked on more team projects than most people and I kinda miss working on them. So, how about some of us team up and work on a game together?
Yeah, I know, I've got tons of things to work on. But after looking back on Trap Designer, I realised that nobody would really play it unless I put some graphics into it, instead of the text-based deal. So, I'm putting it aside and decided that I should go back to working with a team.
Yes, team projects have a high failure rate. In my experience, I could summarize everything that makes a team fail, but that would result in a very, very long post that most of you would read. Suffice it is to say, I know how to handle it.
Oh, and this team project thing is just for fun. I don't wanna team up with any elitist fools who only wanna join to get credit but get pissed off and run while we're still discussing the storyline. It's just a side project, not a cult.
I have so many ideas on things I'd like to see out but I wanna see what you guys wanna see first. Right now, I feel like making an X-Com/Ghostbusters type game.

Call me anti-social but I hate relying on other people, in most situations but especially in game making situations. Sometimes I think it would be really cool to do something like this but I don't work too well in teams.
But you have convinced me to put my RPG aside for an hour or two and make a quick Ghostbusters game. Could be interesting, you'll all hear from me in a couple of hours.
Show me the power child,
I'd like to say,
That I'm down on my knees today,
Gives me the butterflies,
Gives me away,
'Til I'm up on my feet again,
I'm feeling outshined.

I'd love too. Hey isn't that what we are in Psyclick together for? I'm currently working on a Rpgmaker, and I could use a hand with some graphics. But a Ghostbuster game sounds like fun. Do you mean the top-down scroller type? They are fun.
Ashman, I know what you mean. But from what I've seen from team projects, work gets done really, really fast if you like the game. And at much higher quality too, since everyone's specializing. It's bad if there's only one artist, though. They tend to go crazy and run off after a few days of straight spriting .
Psyclick? Personally, I'm quitting Psyclick since I can't enter the site and I'm not too fond of the guy who made the site either. What's the point of being in a team if you can't even communicate with them?
By Ghostbusters game, I don't mean a clone of the movie or something. I had this concept where magic is a form of energy (just like light and heat) a few years back. So as it is, the story's probably gonna be something about ghosts going through a dimensional rift and a private group's trying to stop them.
The game's probably gonna be like X-Com, but most likely top-down (as it saves us all a lotta time and frustration). You get to research stuff to defeat ghosts, get rewarded for catching them instead of destroying them, get a team of scientists and troops, etc. We can decide on the combat engine later. Sound like fun?
BTW, what's a Rpgmaker?

Oh... THAT RPG Maker. It sounded like you were working on something to make RPGs, like an editor or something. Never really liked it. It was too tile-based and FF-engine reliant for me. MMF looks a lot nicer.
Hmm... I think we need a graphics person. I could do background graphics quite well, but I suck at drawing the little guys. Don't judge my skills from my avatar .
Oh, BTW, here's a little something I made in my previous team project. It's a bit M-rated, so you might not let the little kids watch it. A girl I know pretended to not be able to open it when I sent it to her .

The beds and door are a little quickly drawn but everything else is nice. That gal there was drawn by the skilled Dogzer himself... I wish he's in on this project.

Doesn't matter. She's cute . I still need artists for this project to work, though.

In my experience, it's getting everyone to know what to do that takes the longest time. Once everyone's sure what to do, team projects usually just breeze through.
Oh, and I've taken the liberty to modify my forum for the game. It's not like I was really using it anyway . Feel free to join in if you like. It's at...
