New game: Call of Dipsy
News posted 16th August, 2026 by Joshtek

APDGuy (who you might remember from The Quest of James Denis and Squary the Squarer in Snow Square) has now brought us a platform game Call of Dipsy made using Clicteam Fusion 2.5. It is a weird and wacky Sonic-style platformer with enemies including a character which you might identify as a library graphic of a futuristic version of one of the most famous Clickteam game demo protagonists.

Comments from the Creator:
"Call of Dipsy is a joke game that took one month to develop...but went too far. Summary: This game reeks, but that kind of stink that smell good."

Aye, thank you! Unfun fact but now I'm launching an update that includes pretty much better things for the game.

Also may I ask what's up with my pfp on the game screenshots? I don't know I find that curious. If I can change it I'd change it with the Sega CD Bios-like startup screen of the game, just because I find it prettier.

@APDGuy: Do you mean the screenshot which shows up at https://create-games.com/downloads.asp ? DC just picks the first one.

Also uhhh wait for another update because I'm a baboon.

I made some stuff a bit sillier due the "joke game = rage moments funny" excuse but now I'm doing it somewhat easier (or better also) to avoid bad impressions, if anyone can read this please don't DOWNLOAD the current 1.2 version until the upcoming 1.3 version comes out.

UPDATE AS OF, this very day but too late almost 11 PM on Colombia: Version 1.3 released, if you want to get in touch of the game follow it via the itchio page or the PROJECT page for it: https://www.create-games.com/project.asp?id=2680

From how much I played the game, and on the topic of Sonic the Hedgehog, there doesn't seem to be any momentum in the platforming engine. It only has the Sonic formula of getting the rings to stock up your health (in this game it's paperclips), how long you're playing a level (time) and 3 lives/continues by default. A friend of mine pointed out how Dipsy goes 100mph, and I think they're right, but personally I'm fine with this speed as long as I can jump on enemies properly and as long as I can master the double jumping on platforms that I can't really see at first (the controls are very simple). Maybe implementing better camera panning to see what's coming would be a good idea, for example holding the down arrow to move the camera and see what's beneath the platform you're on. There's even a cool switch to a new gameplay style, specificially when you end the level by colliding against an imposed image of a ship (Which I'm pretty sure James Denis doesn't have. The gameplay change I mean), but I'll talk more on that either in a review (if one gets made) or in the comments of the game page. I think it's refreshing, even for a humor-driven game

Ah yeah... the "extended camera" thing...
I've seen the same issue on a youtube gameplay and I'm currently on my way to implement it, I'm facing issues on the road by I guess that's how I can get better. Please be patient for the upcoming version 1.4
