We are hoping we are nearing completion of our project Death From Above over at Gamesare Studios. Death From Above was originally planned to be a two month project is now in its fifth month of work. Originally inspired by BMB Compuscience's 1984 classic Sopwith, DFA set out to capture the same bi-plane fun originally found in the classic and add some new twists and features. Set in the fictitious Country of Transnovia, a land besieged by enemy forces. As the last remaining military force standing, it is you duty to fly, Dogfight and bomb you way to victory using your trusty Bi-plane as well as command ground forces in a city by city battle that occurs over eight maps.
The game consists of piloting your Biplane to discharge bombing ordnance to Gun turrets, Flak Cannons and Enemy tanks, as well as shooting out of the sky enemy planes. Players must make sure to keep a eye on their Armor, Ammo, Bombs and fuel. Planes needing repairs or fuel and ammo must safely land their bird on the nearest Base or aircraft carrier to refuel, repair and rearm. While landed at a friendly base you can issue out ground forces commands. You can send tanks to the left or the right of that base. these tanks will engage other tanks and infiltrate other cities or bases and capture them.
We are looking brave Pilots willing test the game and give us some feedback on bugs and or suggestions. If you volunteer please in your PM or thread post include your desired Name and "Call sign" so you can be added to the Roll Call of Test Pilots in the game.
Some Features
-Make sure to attend Flight School in game..
-When out of Armor, you have a 4 out 5 chance you plane will loose control and begin to dive, if this happens hit the Left and right Keys frantically so your pilot can Bailout and parachute to safety and get back into the game. Other wise it's crash and burn baby, the other 1 of 5 chances.... they most likely shot you in the fuel line and we know what happens after that!
-You can flip the plane as well as perform a barrel roll but their are other moves you can do, like a controlled stall, or a split-S can you find out how?
-Newly captured bases can service you aircraft, you can land at this locations and rearm, repair and refuel. Capturing enemy bases can help turn the title of battle, allowing you to get back in to the engagement zone quicker then having to travel back to your original outpost.
-Every Property you own adds Two tanks to your deployable reserves. if you have one city and one base, you can deploy up to four tanks into battle.
Good Luck Pilots and Happy hunting, we look forward to reading your Mission Debrief reports...
