The file select screen is now complete. As you can see by the screenshot, it will also detect if your save file is incompatible with the current version of the game. I will make the game update old saves if there's only minor changes between versions, but sometimes when I make really big modifications to the game (for example, relocating quest items and such), I may have no choice but to nullify old saves to avoid potential glitches, such as item duplication.
Other than that, I've been chewing away at the third dungeon's boss, which is now well past the halfway point. After that, I have a few more things on my agenda:
- Coding the mastery versions of some of the skills. Right now, reaching the mastery level for most skills doesn't have any effect on its behavior.
- Coding the mana shop spells.
- Reworking how portal networks function. Right now, portals let you jump between two distant locations, but it's still not particularly useful. I ought to switch to a Diablo-esque portal system where you can choose from a list of locations.
And more, of course, but I'll focus on reaching my next milestone (the end of the third dungeon) first and wrap up all of the loose ends before continuing forward.
