'Bout time for a little update, eh?
As far as the gameplay goes, I haven't done anything significant other than addressing bug reports and such. I've also changed the auto-recovery system so that the game always asks you if you want to continue your previous game, even if you closed the program down normally. It only works once, though, and you still have to find a save point in order to legitimately save your progress, so I don't see any major issues with keeping it in.
Other than that, I've been preparing work for future areas of the game by drawing some graphics ahead of time, before I actually start work on the coding and such.
Our first item of the day: Southwater Castle, the main base of operations for the Imperium. The first screenshot I've attached shows the castle in Spore: Galactic Adventures, and the second screenshot shows the redrawn version that will appear during a cutscene in the game. I'm not entirely sure if I got the lighting or colors right, but it's nevertheless a good start.
Second item of the day: Pirates. After the Solar Temple plotline, Ikkin runs into a pirate captain who knows exactly who she is and where she came from. The catch, however, is that you'll have to help her find the rest of her crew, who all wound up stranded in Megatia after a shipwreck. Once that's done, not only will the pirates help Ikkin enter the next dungeon, but she will find something in there that will finally reveal her past and cure her amnesia. She'll also receive something else that's rather awesome, but I'll save that surprise for later. ^_~
