This weekend has been spent experimenting with the different effects that can be applied to stuff in Construct. There are lots of cool effects to use, but it seems most of them aren't suited for a game like mine where the background is mainly black.
I've made it so the lasers emit a blue light. They also have a trail (which looks a bit crappy on a screenshot. It looks better in action).
I've also added a death sequence for the monsters. When they die they will fade away and blood will appear.
I've also started working on a system for when you kill several monsters within a short time, thereby gaining a bonus.
