I've favourited this project almost at the very beginning, because it sounded very promising to me. But looking at the video on your website, I must say it looks like a very mediocre platformer with really nothing original or interesting in it. So you run around, collect bones and stomp on enemies? That would be every Mario game with all power-ups stripped away. And you're selling this game, right? May I ask what sets this game apart from the average freeware platformer?
Well, first off thanks for your honesty.
Second well yes, looking at the trailer it's hard to have a clear idea of how the game is exactly. I don't blame you for thinking it's just another generic platformer, actually that was one of the worries I had when I finished the trailer because after I watched it I had that very same impression. Sadly there is nothing I could with that without spoiling the story, and my goal with that trailer was just to show how the game was going, it's been 5 months since it was made the game evolved a lot since then.
It's a jump n'run, you jump, stomp on enemies and collect stuff but that's about the only similarities with the Mario games.
It's a platformer mixed with an adventure game, the whole game revolves around the story, the atmosphere, finding your way to the next level and so on, there is a sense of progression you don't have with other platformers because the levels are barely connected or simply not connected at all.
There is a lot more to the game but I'd be here all day and I don't want to sound like a salesman. There will be a demo so you'll be able to try it and reach your own conclusions.
By the way take the recently released Arvoesine as an example: You could argue it's a stripped down Castlevania clone with only 5 short levels, yet in my opinion it was 5$ very well spent.
hehe thanks Chris !
However I must add I'm not going to give away all the sales to TDC, only 30 % which is roughly 4$ for each sale.
I think that's already a small help but let's not forget about everyone who donated and is going to donate to the site, all the help counts !
