This is probably the most important game mode in the game, or at least the one I expect (or hope!) to suck more time from the players.
You will manage a team for how many seasons you want, with objectives set by the direction of the club you choose.
Each team has a different reputation, and a club with a higher reputation will tend to have a better squad and more money for transfers and wages but also more ambitious objectives, as well as more pressure from the fans.
This pressure might cause you to get fired ("Game Over"), and you have to keep in mind that in some cases, just winning isn't enough. In a world class team, most of the time you have to win and play well. Your team's performance is evaluated each game, and sometimes struggling to beat a weak team can be more embarrassing that drawing against a strong team for example.
The team's morale also play a role here. A team in a good run of form will always be more dangerous, and this applies to you and both your opponents. I think it will be interesting to see how the player can have an impact on the entire
league by ripping apart one of the main title contenders with a weaker team for example, therefore dealing a huge blow to that team's morale.
Each player, depending on his age and potential will grow his personal attributes and therefore value. Of course, you also can buy and sell players.
All this feels a bit like a RPG which I think might be an interesting mix. This is not too far from Pokemon if you think of it, just exchange soccer player for Pokemon.
Well half of all this is already coded, but I plan on expanding this game mode beyond that. I have some more ideas but I'll have to give them so more thought before I can't talk about them.
