[Scripting Engine / Interpreter]
As of today I've completed the scripting system. Much like the character engine, it interprets a certain amount per loop to save processing power on slower computers. Therefore even with complicated scripts and large amounts of players, a decent FPS is attained even with minimum system requirements (Which I currently estimate to be 1.2GHZ/64MB Graphic Card)
[Level Editor Update]
On top of this, the editor is coming along nicely. There are a few key features left to take care of;
- Changing terrain / terrain textures
- Character selection, moving and modification
- Once those are complete, Map Saving / Loading
[Fully moddable]
I've come to the final decision that I would like to make this game moddable. This means that once released, you will be able to change everything from the graphics, characters, cutscenes/scripts etc. Up to this point all development supports that, and so this game will contain everything needed to make your own adventures and worlds.
[The Future]
I estimate that the final level editor work will be done by tonight. What this means is work will begin on updating my placeholder graphics, character creation, animation, level design, scripting and audio to create the final product.
