My work on the editor has been completed. After a couple of tests with the scripting engine, it seems to work just perfect for what will be needed in this game. Easily the most important feature is being able to playtest the map you're developing instantly - allowing for easy script creation and debugging and overall control over every aspect of the game.
Also in this update is a feature that allows different characters to be of different sizes- from children to giants.
Another cool feature is that the map format is designed to be upgraded - new features are easily added into them and they should be loadable as updates and new features come along.
So next on the list is to create some more objects to insert into maps (so that it is less bland...) and completing the wrapped functions for the scripting engine.
I plan on posting a small video of what the scripting engine can do on the next update (some sort of cutscene), so be sure to check back soon.
