If you haven't seen our first release, here are the default controls:
Z - Use item in Z slot/equip item to Z slot
X - Use item in X slot/equip item to X slot
Enter - Open/close the menu
Backspace - Open/close the map

Pretty cool engine (games are better though), it seems accurate. Sounds are great too.
Some things:
- Diagonal movement should be slightly slower
- Perhaps a sorting/ordering of sprites method based on Y coordinate (can use layer object). Things that are lower on the screen should be infront of other things behind them, I noticed this with the chickens.
- No jumping off cliffs yet (noticed when going in water)?
