In Rollercoaster Tycoon 2 & 3 (I think 1... ) There's an underground building feature. If it isn't too late to add it, do you suppose you could do it?

Nah, it won't be in this version i'm afraid. Half the challenge in the stages is created by the shape of the terrain. For example a large hill in the center of the level creates an obstacles, especially since the roller coaster needs gravity to run. There will be levels that have caves etc pre-built into them which you can build through!

Actually, Rollercoaster Tycoon 1 and 2 were the ones with underground building. They decided to make you buy an expansion pack for Rollercoaster Tycoon 3, to get the ability to build underground.
And in response to what Nick said. Can't you just do what Rollercoaster Tycoon did and add scenario rules such as restrictions for underground building limitations? Rollercoaster Tycoon did all sorts of stuff like restrict ride height, restrict underground building, allow building over ground you don't own, restrict the destruction of tree's and so on.

Hmm, i would have to remake how the world works though. At the moment, terrain and scenery objects are the same type of object. So building a tunnel through the ground would be the same as building through a scenery object!
I'll have a look though.

Yes, the game will mostly likely stay how it is. But the programming side of it i find a LOT easier than the graphics, which are taking by far the majority of the time.

Nope, you can download a free patch for the original RTC3 that among other things, lets you build underground.

Ugh, I HATE that scenario. I will never replay that one again if I don't have to.
