There is an examplefile showing how to use it here: http://andos.stiaxies.net/examplefiles.php
It's extremely easy to use, I don't think it needs any documentation really.
Yes you can make a wavy desert background effect with this object.
Follow the discussion about the object over at CT as well: http://www.clickteam.com/CTforum/showflat.php3?Cat=&Board=study&Number=278087&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=&part=
This is superb, most graphically intense extensions (i.e Overlay object/Mode 7) are SLOW, sometimes even by themselves you can see the frame-rate drop, so this is much more practical to use as a part of a game.
Excellent work man :D.
You have to keep this in mind: The object should never go outside the playarea (not even one pixel) so you have to reallly precise when positioning the object and resizing it.
If you are sure it's a bug, then email me an example. My email is in the setup box when you click 'About'

What about making the object so that it ignores all stuff outside of the frame?
I can add that for the next release :)
I'm also allowing you to change the offset value for some of the other effects that doesn't do anything when setting the offset at the moment.
