A present day tragedy that Dolphins endure at the hands of the fisherman and Dolphin dealers who hunt them is unfolding today in parts of the world like Taiji, Japan.

Find out how many Dolphins you can save playing "The Killing Cove" and also learn what you can do to help stop the senseless murdering and imprisonment of these friendly and intelligent creatures.

I have updated the game to version 1.2, faster moving Dolphins and I added nets, The fisherman cast the nets out and pick them up randomly during the game, getting in a net causes a Dolphin to do a 180 in the opposite direction! Next update will include Human intervention power ups. Stay Tuned!

So today I was able to complete most of v 1.3. Alot of cool things added and tweaked, I plan on adding a bit more, but I wanted to share the WIP at this point.

-Added option to shut down info panels
-Added more effects to nets
-Added Conserve Points
...-Added combo bonuses
-Added two human intervention actions (Surfer and Net Cut)

Let me know what you think!

Is there any way to play this without giving it access to everything I've ever put on Facebook?

Thanks Kisguri

I think it was a pretty good game and a good way to make a point. I ended up reading a little about the Taiji Cove after I'd finished.

I liked the gameplay idea but it could be improved in a few ways. Taking the game on its own: I rescued 118 and lost 6 and then it was "Game Over". Seems a bit harsh. I thought I was doing pretty well by saving over 100 dolphins. I think it could be a bit easier if you want players to see all of the messages in the game. By week 6 I'd say the number of dolphins gets unmanageable.

A couple of minor issues: When new items appear on the playfield, you should make it more obvious. The nets fading in subtly is ok because they're traps and supposed to be silent, but boats sneaking in from the side of the screen and near the goal area is not cool.

Speaking of which, it wasn't until my second playthrough that I realised that the goal area includes the bottom edge of the screen and not just the corner (as the flashing arrows suggest)

One major flaw cropped up when I noticed that boats are able to drive along the top edge of the screen, immediately capturing any dolphins coming into the play area. Boats are also allowed to enter from the right edge with no warning, as I mentioned, capturing dolphins swimming down that side. Having said that, those decisions could've been deliberate given that you're trying to convey the message that it's an unfair fight for the dolphins.

I think this is a success as a awareness tool first and a game second, but I still quite enjoyed playing it. Nice work!
