Walkie Tonky is a physics-based action game which puts you in the shoes of a giant robot invading Earth. Smash and kick your way forward using the robot's every limb to cause mayhem and clear the road ahead. All is experienced with a presentation that binds visuals and audio together, and an engaging control scheme.

With one hand on the keyboard you control the directions of the robot. Steer out of the way of incoming baddies and climb over piles of debris. With the mouse you take command over the robots attacks. Pick up and throw stuff or move the mouse in a swift movement to kick.

This version of the game is mostly a demo of the concept but I think you'll get a kick out of it! Or two.

Doesn't work for me. The mouse gets locked to a few pixels south of the frame. Can use the direction keys still but no mouse movement at all.
From the screenshots it looks like a new version of that Walker game back on the Amiga, cept replacing guns with physics. That game was hot

Very impressive. Especially for an MMF project. You're one of the few here I can see truly does put a lot of emphasis on making their work presentable to more then just this silly website. Congrats.

Very well done. I like the use of instruments as sound effects. Really make the music and sound MUCH smoother and makes the gameplay lots more enjoyable!

Adam you're just supposed to get his hands near the object and use the left mouse button to pick it up. The only time you have to move the mouse is to add momentum to the kicks.

Anyway, great presentation, amazing physics, I have no idea how you did that stuff in mmf. I died and am not sure if there's levels or if you just reach the end and tally up a score. I liked how the sound of the grabbing motion went along with the music.

You know a game is made brilliantly in MMF, when you don't even know it was made in MMF. I actually had to double check the properties of the EXE to be sure of myself before I made my comment. Great stuff.

pretty nice! I love games with physics but the fun-factor started to wear off a little on the second go for me - and the third time I tried playing it crashed.
Very professional quality overall though!

To make it smooth like "Flash"-program kinda, did you use the alpha channel opbject??

@solgryn: No, just the built-in alpha channel of the picture editor. Or that is to say, the graphics are all made in an external graphics editor and then imported.

How can you get over the skyscrapers? The pink arrows say you have to press up but the robot cannot get any taller. I always get stuck. Kicking does not work either.

You have to throw something at it. Rightclicking when you've picked up a tank works best.

As others have stated it's an amazingly well programmed game for MMF2. Very fluid animation and nice artwork. My only beef with it is that it feels more like a "tech demo" of sorts, and not like a game. It was very quick to finish and except for marveling at the exceptional coding there is no incentive to start over. You should build on the concept and make it longer and deeper. That's my two cents.

Sorry to bring this down but I managed to get it working by lowering my resolution (wtf?).
The controls aren't as fluid as they could be. It took me a while to knock buildings down (maybe my mouse isn't fast enough?) and I had no idea where the hands were since the cursor is hidden.
But for me it feels like a well-made Flash tech demo. I hope you do continue it though, I'd definitely buy a full version if you added a lot more.

On a technical level its superb. Great use of Alpha channels, rotations and all that and the art style is beautiful.

hmm, yeah that actually was a bit of a trick. You have to make sure you use a file format that saves the alpha channel separate and not "attached" to one of the color channels, or you'll get this weird outline on your Anti-aliasing. We used TGA.
