It's Asteroids, the class asteroid destroying arcade game. The only goal is to destroy the asteroids and gain as high of a score as possible(and don't forget about the alient ships).

Presented in glorious, old-school vector graphics like the original arcade game, this version includes a smooth, 360 degree ship movement and an online highscore table! Full feature list:

-Old-school vector graphics
-Smooth, 360 degree ship movement
-Semi-randomly generated asteroids
-Progressive difficulty level
-Online highscore table!

I know, Asteroids has been cloned to death. In my defense, the game started out as a bet that I could make an Asteroids clone with vector-graphics before my brother could make a Space Invaders clone in flash. I lost by 5 minutes.

The main portion of the game took about 2 1/2 hours of work, while the highscore table took around an extra 3-4(blah).

i think YOU need to look up vector graphics, solgryn

a vector graphic is drawn using primitives. and from the looks of it those are all drawn from lines.

they dont particularly look pre drawn as sprites either. so if they are he did a VERY good job at mimicking vector "style" graphics using raster images.

and its already been shown that vector can be done in mmf.

very nice asteroids clone i might add. i never could get the inertia thing working correctly on my old asteroids clone. very nice job.

They are actually realtime vector graphics, not raster images.

And thanks for the comments, guys.

If there's enough demand, I might go back later and flesh out the game a bit. For now, though, I've about had it with working on it.

Game was okay, it's a nice clone and nice going with the vectors.

I also think you should put in some of your own touches to the game, making it more than "just a clone".

I get an error whenever I open highscore and the game closes :c

Thanks, chrilley. I might add some more to it at some point.

Callebo - Somebody else has had that problem as well, and I don't know what's causing it. You're score was submitted though. I'll see if I can't fix it up.
