My entry for the Christmas competition! It's a Wonderboy clone made in TGF2: Newgrounds Edition. Nothing groundbreaking, but I thought I'd try and get by on raw bloody charm.

Early feedback suggests it's insanely hard! In my defence, 1) TGF2:NE doesn't exactly facilitate third-party testing, and 2) do you really want me to hold your hand? Come on klikkers, don't let me down.

Anyway - you've got a big stack of christmas presents to deliver, a car to drive about in, cats to avoid, jumps to time.

Dogzer drew the awesome cats, snow animation and Tukky's adorable family.

If this game was made to piss the player off. Congratulations! I beat the first level and made it to the 3rd section of the second level. I can't tell you how many times I died because A: The character did not jump when I pressed x or B: The character just kept sliding like he was Luigi. I loved the graphics, but the controls could use some tweaking in order for me to fully enjoy this game and not be mad from frustration.

Yami: I'm devastated, where could you not jump? It's not the most complex platform engine in the world but it should, you know, work.

Otherwise the mechanic of course is run faster, jump higher. Maybe I should have considered tighter deceleration.

Generally, I've found the game runs OK in Flash but occasionally Newgrounds will load it up and it'll be running at a fraction of the intended FPS. Source code's here if anyone's interested in trying it in MMF, sorry about the filesize: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17337462/tcsource.zip

This game deserves to be played until the end. I can play it from beginning to end without dying 1 single time, if you give 2 presents to each kid in each level, and get to your wife without dying, you get the bj scene, very recommendable

The only thing I can think of is... sometimes the framerate jumps in flash and so when that happens it doesn't pick up my input. I played the open source and it worked fine, but the moving platforms didn't work on level 1.

That platform issue doesn't sound too good... Here's hoping the competition judges don't run into that one!

Thanks for trying out the source version, Yami. I consider this game's shelf life more or less over, but I'll definitely get a broader cross-section of testers for my next game. Dogzer's just way too good, he kept telling me to make it harder!
