Hehehehe... I'm not going to greet any sore losers of you here because... huh... mmm... I'm starting a revolution...

Just kidding! APD finally here after a whole year since The Quest of James Denis, a lot happened since then actually but I don't want to talk right now because it would be so, so, so, SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO long!

Call of Dipsy is a joke game that took one month to develop (because currently I'm unemployed and july was my second and last month of university vacation) but went too far. Not the returnal I was expecting (it was going to be a James Denis game) but given that on Game Jolt I'm known as a FNaF guy (because most of my games are FNaF fangames based of Five Nights at Tubbyland) but no one would play my non-FNaF games out of spite I made this by even doing a weirder, even more out-of-context FNaTL game than my own series (TETTL, ADTLS, Classic TRoTL whatever man I've been doing these since I was a toddler in 2018 up to my 17's to the second TETTL game) and so this game was born, gameplay-wise it tries to be a serious game but its spirit just want to fool around with you.

There are lots of inspirations behind this but I guess I have to point out the Sonic the Hedgehog series, I mean it's the most obvious one. Since it was simple enough for me it was a perfect replacement for the pile of rejected James projects I failed to do and uhh.. well it shows up it worked well because Call of Dipsy has been finalized!

The level design isn't that great but at least don't go to the same awful range of Super Retro Kid (remember that one?)... EXCEPT for the hell levels... ohohoh I used the "it's a joke game!" excuse starting on act 2 because I find ragebaiting players real funny. But once you get used to it and know where to go it's not really a HAAAAARD thing... right?! (complete the game to its fullest and you'll see what I mean by "right?!")

Collisions are wonky, although sometimes you can use it for your own benefit there are other parts it harms you so I had to modify A LOOOOT the levels to not make it a miserable experience, I couldn't fix the problem but hey you can double jump, if you fall but haven't jump then you know what to do.

Unironically I've put enough effort to the game to even include not only an automatic save system but ALSO THREE slots, my goodness!

This is also compatible with any X-Input controller!

Please check the built-in instruction manual before you start, it's pretty straight to the point so it will not take too much.

Summary: This game reeks, but that kind of stink that smell good.

P.S: The guy who appears at the end didn't die, it is actually a friend of mine I met back when we were 10 and to this day we're still kicking in, in fact, he's well right now.

(Also originally I wrote a better description but something happened and my navigator closed soooooo I had to re-write all next time I upload something on here I'll write it down on Microsoft Word and paste from it to here)

Okay so I'll keep talking here about the game since I began doing so in its news post. To me the diving could use some work, and I mean REALLY could use some work. I hate having to mash Z like a total maniac to lift myself up when I know I have 3 slowed down seconds before drowning (it's a countdown to a system malfunction because Dipsy is a robot obviously). Even so, the alarm clocks, books and carrots can be easy killed, so I'm not complaining about them. I love how the second boss (The third act of Argentina) only requires getting the green shield in the mines, so that when you get to the boss, your controls are completely disabled, but all of the boss projectiles can deflect and beat the boss. At first I thought my game was broken until I realized this is a joke similar to the infamous "Luigi wins by doing absolutely nothing". My latest progress is on Cold Farenheit (Act 1) and I'll report anything else that bothers me or amuses me

Okay so I got to the Helluva levels and yeah, I really don't like the mazes in it, mostly because they kill the pacing by a lot. Even the doors themselves weren't different at all, they were just copies of the same door. After some time I figured out which doors to take, but for anyone reading this, be careful as there's also a screamer door near the boss. And to be more specific, in the third act of Helluva, when you find that smiley face you found in the special stages (I forget their names, but I know that they parody the Chaos Emeralds), you take the door to the right because the left one has a screamer I mentioned. As of writing this comment, I beat the Helluva boss (laugh it up, kids), so hopefully I don't see any more mazes after this

My damn goodness, you managed to get all the chaos toasts? My respects, apologies for some odd level designs but that was right crazy.

And related to the "screamer" thing, yeah there is one, but thing is that it's not a "door" but rather a normal looking tubby toast, AVOID THAT TOAST!

Right, so it's the smiling tubby toast located before the boss room that initiates the screamer, that makes sense. Yeah, for the Chaos Toasts, I only failed getting the last one on my first try, but luckily the game gave me another shot meaning I could play the same backrooms stage again so I truly have them all like you said. Too bad I'm no match for the challenge the game offers after beating it regularly haha. I'll rate it 4 stars just because of the mazes and the tedious diving mechanic (water levels, yadda yadda yadda)
