Dear Daily Clickers!
If you have read the novel "Starship Titanic", you know that the main characters got into a problem where they should compare a "dormillion" day with an earth day. The author, however, didn't write how they solved the problem. I came up with a couple of theories of why he didn't:
- The author hadn't got time and/or space in the book to fill in those detailes.
- The author didn't want to spoil that part for the computer game (which was made paralelly with the book)
- The author had no idea how they should solve this problem, gave up and simply wrote that he "wouldn't say how they solved it"
In any case, I would really like to know how that problem was solved. I have a theory (here too) that the characters used two stopwatches, one dormillian and one "normal", and let one of the characters run a limited lenght whilst two other characters took time. Then they would compare each others results and leave the rest to some simple mathematics. I don't, however, know if they had access to any stopwatches.
So, does anyone have any idea of how the problem was solved? I would really appreciate it if you could told me how.

It's Douglas Adams, he did it so you would waste your time trying to figure out how the main character did it. He's probably lauging and rolling in his grave right now.
May 5th is towel Day.

Don't forget that it was Terry Jones who wrote the book.
