I made some neat little Leyden Jars in the last couple of days. The first one was a failure but the next to work great.
A Leyden Jar is a simple capacitor that can store static electricity. The point, obviously, is to zap people with them.
The one on the left is the second one I made, and the first one to work. As you can see, it's a film canister. I've been getting charge off of television screens and making sparks jump, but it's really hard to shock someone because most people get suspicious if you try to sneak up on them with a black wire-covered anything. So last night I made the Leyden Pen. Mwohahaha. Works just as well, but stealthier. I'm gonna shock my sister when she gets home from school.
I used to have an obsession with nicking the ignition charges out of Clipper lighters, then it grew to dismantling gas fire and stealing the highly stronger charges out of them, all for the purpose of shocking people. I might have to try this though, it looks a lot less suspicious than me approaching someone with an ignition charge.
Problem is, they're a bitch to charge. I don't know if it's possible, but it might be a good idea to charge them with a piezo igniter. Easier than harvesting static off a TV or making it yourself, and the pen is less suspicious. I'm going to try when I get the chance.
