Hi, I'm new here. But I've been making games on Multimedia Fusion for almost a year now. My engines aren't exactly groundbreaking but I'm getting there. Anyways, this is what I've come up with in the past few days:
http://www.sepwich.com/srpgp/TAClone.zip (You need MMF 1.5 and the extensions "Advanced Game Board Object" (Which can be found in Bonus Pack 3) and "Easy Grid Object" (Which can be found by searching Clickteam's extension list at www.clickteam.info ) to open the file inside the .ZIP)
Even though I've only been developing this engine look-a-like to Tetris Attack (Also known as Pokemon Puzzle League, Pokemon Puzzle Challenge and Panel De Pon) for a couple days, I've already found myself at a huge road block. (Either that or I'm lazy. ) Anyone want to help? Just asking, no need to...

Maybe if you told us what you wanted your engine to do, then we could help. Because you haven't asked us to do anything.

Well it would help if you've played Tetris Attack. When I left the thread I could've sworn I posted the problem but...
First off, I have trouble getting the animations working right. Because of the way the extension and MMF works, I need to use an alternate active object to show the "Destroying" animation. But every time you line up three blocks to destroy them, the animation blocks that are supposed to appear in their place end up at random areas on the board, making it look bleh.
Then I have a problem with the cursor's ability to switch blocks though I can fix that. Thing is, it just takes a lot of math, somehting I'm not good at...
Then finally I got the gravity problem and switching with an empty piece. After realizing this problem, I decided that maybe the "Advanced Game Board" extension isn't meant for this type of engine...
So yeah, that aside the engine I just posted is useless now. I'm having a difficult time making a new one, thanks to all the problems I just posted and more. Basically, I need an engine where:
You have these different types of blocks in a Tetris-like field where you use a key-conrolled cursor to switch block to make three or more combinations and have the ability to switch blocks as gravity is going on.
Small tidbits helping the development of this engine is greatly apperciated, no need to create the whole engine yourself. I just need a few pushes and shoves in the right direction. ^^

Mehh, cheater You use the Advanced Game Board object I don't think making a good Tetris Attack engine is easy to do with the AGB object, I think you should begin with making a Bejeweled or Collapse style thing, those are easier

Yeah I realized that when I tried it. AGB isn't good for a Tetris Attack engine. But yeah, I guess I should go from the bottom and work my way up then, huh? The Bejeweled engine and Tetris Attack engine are very similar, if I can makea Bejeweled engine, a Tetris Attack engine shouldn't be too far off.

I have to make a Bejeweled engine without the AGBO since the AGBO isn't a very good choice to make a Tetris Attack engine. Bejeweled and Tetris Attack are very similar but my true goal is making a Tetris Attack engine, but to get there first, I should try to make a Bejeweled engine first so I know what to do for the Tetris Attack engine. (Sorry if I sound confusing, I'm almost confusing myself!)
*Sighs* It's times like this the make me wish someone had already made an example before me. Oh well.
