looks nice. Hope you manage to stick through making the RPG. Just getting all the basic engines(battle, menu, inventory, etc.) is often tedious. Most klik RPGs are never finished because of these complications. Good luck.
I though the main character wore pants and not a skirt. I know people ussually don't were the same clothes every day, but gamecharacters often tends to .
One problem with animé is faces. Especially for girls and children, the faces are all the same.
Take about 6 standard animé females, remove their hair, glasses, etc, and look at their faces. Can you tell the difference? It's hard. Much of the stuff that differs one character from another is clothes/hair, and this kills your creativity.
Give the characters more distinctive faces - look at the faces of real girls and think 'why does she look different to any other girl?'... and don't just look at her hair or her clothes.
Once you have characters with more distinctive faces (especially jaw, brow, chin and cheek formations), you can change their clothes and hair as much as you like and people will still recognise them.
There's definitely facial distinction between females in anime, Dines. Some styles (particularly those favoured by amateurs) don't allow for much variance, but a professional is entirely capable of making unique faces.
Besides, there's two things you're missing:
A) there's not all that much difference between faces in any two people anyway, we rely on very small variations for facial recognition and things like hair, skin tone and height also come into consideration. It's easy to recognise people once you get to know them, but that's a learned pattern.
B) the style originates in a region where the features most of us use for facial recognition don't necessarily apply (that is, the characters aren't necessarily asian but the style is).
looking at the picture i think the girl's stomach isnt proportionate to her body - her chest is way to small width wise for her stomach
unless u want her that way
otherwise it looks great
Its not enough,I need more
Not enough to satisify
I said I dont want it, I just need it.
To believe, to feel, to know I'm alive.
Knuckle deep beneath the borderlines.
This may hurt a little but its something you'll get used to.
Relax. Slip Away...
Well unless she's got some mad fire powers or anything, she does look rather innocent to be a top notch main charater of an RPG, looks really cool though. Nice for a first concept art. Me? I have a hard time with concept art for what ever reasion, not to say its hard because people say 3D modelling is hard & I do that pretty well so...
Radix: Yeah, but this isn't done by a professional, is it? When it's not done by a professional, the path of least resistance is usually to draw the textbook 'heartshaped face' that many people associate with animé.
Jawbones, cheekbones, foreheads, browlines, crooked brows (one eyebrow raised naturally higher than the other), laughter lines, natural frowns, a professional animé artist can pull it all off. But I'm not giving crits to a professional artist.
Okay, fair enough. It just reminded me of one time someone argued that you couldn't draw a realistic vagina in anime. I had to find him half a dozen 'examples' to prove it's a limitation of the artist, not the style.
