'Warning: Images may be corrupt' -has that ever happened to anyone before?

I was editting the images for an object in my game, and then I left the picture editor, and clicked on the 'run level' shortcut. Then the screen flashed once, and took me back to the level editor, only thign is, my play area was black, and I coulnt edit the events, or click on play level, run through, etc. I went to storyboard, and the level editor worked well with the other levels, but not with the level that screwed up. I left TGF, and restarted it, and loaded my game, and I got an error Ive never had before: 'Warning: Images may be corrupt'. The level seemed fine, except the one object I was editting last was playing its stopped animation (it had no walking one), and the first frame was replaced with a small, blue detector-esque block. Nothing in my game looked like that blue block. But I replaced it with the original first frame, and everything seemed fine.

But maybe another object in the level has been tampered with too, but It will take too long checking through all the objects in the level. There are about 50+ objects in the level each with about 5 different animations each.

So anyway, what should I do? I know it was stupid to post this, but I just wanted to make sure. So.. what now? Do I check through all the active objects' animation frames or what?

yep, it's happened to me once. In a strategy game i made many years ago, when i run it all characters turned blue, and when i rebooted tgf it said "images may be corrupt". I have no idea how to fix it, nothing seems to work . You could try copying the objects and events one by one to another .gam. I can't really help you coz i deleted mine

I've had that before in TGF, and I've no idea why it happens. As you said, I think the best thing you can do is check through all your animation frames. (MMF doesn't do this!)

Have you ever had the "Object structures newer versions: Do NOT save this file!" error before? Terrifying.

For those like me who uses tgf to make everything and mmf to simply edit/compile stuff, you better make lots and lots of backups. TGF has some nasty little bugs and you've just encountered one of the not-so-bad ones, or at least got a pretty generous instance of one.
There's really nothing you can do except redraw your lost frames. I'd also try and move everything into a brand new .gam file too since the .gam itself could be messed up.
I've had this happen to me about 3 times and its pretty annoying; the amount of damage it does varries though. TGF also screws up your events sometimes too; this is really bad if you have a really really really large game file. The bottom line is: save often, backups will save your ass from this kind of stuff.
Good luck restoring your work Giga-Guy

I havent checked through many of the animation frames, but I was only able to spot ONE mess up, and that was in the object that I was last edditing. But I was able to fix that. I might want to run through all the animation frames, all the dierections and stuff, etc later, when I have more time.

I have ONE back up, but the last time I editted it was a while back. It has the basic mechanics of the game now, but its missing a ton of stuff, like a few items, power ups, and enemies, AND bug fixes. Is there an easy way to transfer my progress without starting over from where I last saved my backup?

Or can I safely keep editting the game I was making, since nothing seems wrong with it now?

OR should I start over from the last back up, and just re-add everything, instead of risking losing even more than what I might have already?

You could try copying out each frame in to a newly opened GAM file - you would lose the game properties and possibly have to set up the links between frames again.

i had this before but i think it simply didnt let me open the game file anymore, luckily i had an slightly older file that worked fine.

I think problems occur more often when you copy files from one game to another or even from frame to frame. Sometimes even making a few objects global at the same time cause the graphics to screw up, like making everything look the same.

Ive never had a major problem before though, although it does crash sometimes when you copy events from an object that isnt actually present in the frame you're copying to and try to play it.

I think there's a verb or event missing there, or something similarly vital.

'You could try copying out each frame in to a newly opened GAM file - you would lose the game properties and possibly have to set up the links between frames again.'

Would that work? Maybe I should just get rid of the object that caused the error. Or maybe I could just pick up from the last back up.
