Hi. Does anyone know a program where i could draw an isometric sprite from left, behind, right and in front of it, and then the program would rotate it into the semi-directions? So not just like normal rotating tool, but so that it can turn 3d-kind pictures. Hope someone understands what i mean.
Simcity 3000 had a program similar to this, you could design a building & rotate it through the isometric editor, but I'm not sure if this would be an idea you could use for actual complex models. Simcity 3000 was just an editor that gave you the ability to stack blocks & then color them, nothing to special. Its a goal for someone to try out though. I couldnt imagen it being to hard to design a program that can read 3DS files & view them in isometric, then render it out in all directions, it just cant be done in MMF until we get an extention better then the 3D Object, which as far as I know, only supports color & very poor 3D rendering.
HAHA brandon i doubt the building maker in that would be any use... damn i bought that game for 30 pounds and i saw it for 10 pounds cheaper 3 days later...
The building designer could how ever be some kind of inspiration to a better isometric editor, which is what I was saying.
I got SimCity 2000 for around $20, & the Unlimited version for $10. About a half a year later I believe, is when I got SimCity 4.
Thanks anyway.. my dad said that he thinks that there are some programs that can do that. I don't think it's impossible, just need some maths & stuff...
All 3d modelling software should be able to do that.
Because you can set a viewport for your object.
You set the viewport to the isometric point of view, et voila.
But most 3d modelling software is expensive, like: 3dsmax, lightwave and maya.
But of course there is free software, like: Blender, 3D Canvas or Gmax.
Free stuff's more than good enough for producing sprites, provided you don't suck.

World Creator. Look for it on Google.
There's a freeware version for 1.5, and if the program doesn't work at first you'll have to register a specific DLL. But when you can get it running, you can easily make isometric stuff from normal 'front' images.
