It's time once again for this years TDC Christmas Competition. There is only room for one winner, but the main prize, generously donated by the wonderful folk at Clickteam, is the full version of Multimedia Fusion 2 Pro! A seriously cool prize indeed!
The theme for this years competition is:
CHRISTMAS: ANYTHING GOES
Question though, does this include using any extentions or plugins we need to complete the project? I'll be running over the rules in a minute, I just wanted to make sure I got that part down flat.
Thanks Circy, thats a really nice idea. Just wondering, but just to make sure I dont get this confused, but does the ZIP have to be 8MB or less, or the contents inside the ZIP (making the ZIP itself, smaller then 8MB).
I'll enter - not like Im gonna win but its just for the fun so might as well. No 2nd or 3rd prizes though? (I haven't read all the page yet so sorry if I've misread anything..)
You might get an entry from me, if I can prise myself away from Blitz+ and stir the old Games Factory in to life.
And...if I can get the awesome idea I've got to work in it...
Umm what if we use Bonus Pack extensions? We can't include the extensions with the game so can we just state which bonus pack's we used? Everyone should have them anyway .
A bit of insanity with every bite!

I'm guessing that means no teams.

You know what? i'm going to go for it! I think i'll try something other than a platformer this time as i make too many of those anyway.
Maybe a point and click adventure or top down action rpg. it will be short anyway because i'm quite busy with other stuffs.
Doubt it Brandon.
You'll be scored on the things shown on the comp page. Graphics, sound, gameplay .etc
This is a signature. Have this one on me.

Uhg, I decided I'm out already (Yeah, a whole one day in). I might come in later if I get a better computer. It's too bad, MMF2 PRO seems like a good prize.
"Isn't it always amazing how we characterize a person's intelligence by how closely their thinking matches ours?"
~Belgarath
there should be 1st prize, second prize and third prize, so 3 people can experience the awesomeness that is MMF2. but all the prizes should be the same.
I think that groups as large as 2 people should be allowed, because not everyone is great at making graphics, and that might be the reason alot of people lose intrest in the contest, I mean in the end, the person who submits it should be the one who gets the prize, its not like you have to give it to both people. Its just, allowing groups of atleast 2, would inspire alot more entries, because everyone has strengths & weaknesses. Besides, I was hoping to work with Snerlin if he ever signs on, but I guess I cant unless the rule is backed down.
Well not to give them any idea's, but if you were a long term member here, and have alot of examples of your work, it might be a little easy to tell if someone made the graphics for you game, only because each person seems to have there own style of graphics. As far as eventing, I dont know how they would tell, but with graphics, the admins might find it pretty hard to believe that someone who couldnt make anything good, suddenly has this absolutly amazing looking game. I think thats a sure sign.
There is only ONE person who will get MMF2 as there is only one copy. If the winning game was done by a group of people then it would just encourage piracy.
I'm thinking that I might increase the filesize further, to say, 12MB. That way there'd be room for the .exe version as well as the .gam or .cca file. So yeah, both of those should be included in the zip. I'll amend the competition page now.

Increase the group limit size then. A rule to force 1-man projects isn't a "guideline" it's a pointless restriction. Competition guidelines are used to force creativity, as apposed to just limiting the amount of entries. Games of any complexity are not meant to be made by one person, and if they are, they take longer than one month. A 2 man group can strategically use strengths and weaknesses together if they cooperate well, and create a much better and more fleshed out product.
Ok, groups are allowed then, but there is still only one copy of MMF2 to go around. If you submit a group entry (and it wins) then you'll have to decide who gets MMF2. You might want to run a random drawing, maybe what Brandon said and have the submitee win the copy.
I'm just very wary about the piracy issue, but I guess I cannot prove who's been working alone or anything, so I might as well relax this.

Holy crap! the prize is MMF 2 "PRO"?? I'm so in on this one. Means that I'll have to put my current project, which is tugging along extremely well, on ice for the time being. I had planned to finish the game before christmas and then complete my game from TDC's last years X-mas competition. But MMF2Pro, wow!
Why can't the size limit be 8.mb to 12.mb, and anything inbetween? because adding in countless screenshots to make the zip file bigger is not fun. And my game is huge right now.

Not the first two syllables anyways.
"Isn't it always amazing how we characterize a person's intelligence by how closely their thinking matches ours?"
~Belgarath
I do not wish to include my address. Is it possible to send the winner the serial code and app through email instead of the mail? My mom does not want me giving away my address.
Oh my goodness... so basically the group people probably have the advantage. Which means I probably wont win because a group effort usually produces better quality an app/game. I am working alone, and that's it, but I don't think you should allow yourself to conform and change the rules on the fly like that. It's like saying: Okay there's a competition... and the prize is MMF2... OH WAIT (2 days later), no! the prize is now TGF 1 Standard.... WTF is with that?
So please, revert your changes to the competition (with the exception of the size, MMF produces LARGE results)...

Andrew it doesnt really matter, because anyone could take a group project and say it was made by him/herself and claim the prize. Theres no absolute way to tell.

It doesn't matter anyways, Radix decided to win. Groups may have an advantage (some of them maybe), but like I said, it be hard to tell if someone was working on a team, and only one group member gets MMF2.

May I ask, what the hell is the point of having to submit the source? What does it matter if the code is organized or not. A game is a game. Sure it helps to be organized , a great deal. . ., but I don't like the idea of anyone besides me and my closest friends having my code.
1. The judges need to check for malicious code before they run the game. It would be quite easy to make an MMF app that can destroy windows.
2. If you every intend on making bigger games, or working in "real world" game programming, source code completeness, neatness and commenting are extremely important. Trust me, I learnt that the hard way!
PS. Phizzy, what the hell is you crazy avatar from? It's like a santa jesus or something

There's nothing stopping you from finding a partner. Practically every other game making competition, including TDC's earlier ones, allows groups. Why? Because games are meant to be made in groups. There's exceptions, but solo projects usually take a very long time (Mina of the Pirates, Gunner 4, TSE1 and 2)or are simple and revolve around new ideas (Kaiser Kitty, Hurdler, etc) or they might just suck...
I know when you work on bigger games you have to be organized , and he engine has to be very flexible etc etc . . .though I still dont like the idea of handing out the code.
I understand that you don't want to give out code, but only the judges will have the source, and I'm sure they'll delete it once they've finished judging. If not, you could probably request that they do.
How can we win, when fools can be kings?
Don't waist your time, or time will waist you!
group projects fail more often because they need to make sure everyone will pull their weight. Just one person being lazy can throw the thing into vapourware territory. since there is just less than a month now us Soloers will get a slight advantage.
IMO the rules should be modified to say something like "Source code must be included to verify that the game is buildable using only click tools. Source will not be published or circulated beyond the judges, and copyright remains with the author(s)."

kitty, team compo projects are like self torture. only one of you will get to have the prize. It's like going to the candy shop with 6 friends and getting 1 lollipop. You will all figt over it and kill each other. Or you will split up the GameMine team. besides, what's a team with different software?
its only 3 days into the compo lol . i don't think there would be a whole lot to show off.

Aww crap, I've been working on that screenshot forever.
"Isn't it always amazing how we characterize a person's intelligence by how closely their thinking matches ours?"

This will be my official first time entering a compo. MMF2 Pro is a great motivation to get my lazy butt working on a game or something. It's kind of sad that I never finish my projects but for the first time... I will complete something. Good Luck to everyone and have fun with the compo as I will too.
why post screenshots so soon? Your just gonna let people make something even better, its a competition so keep it under wraps until like the last hour then release your fury and poo on people with quality work.
Well, raising the standards is a good thing surely? Most people seem quite competitive over the prize and I don't blame them. It's MMF2 for crying out loud!
I got my story down. Now the hard part... Making the game, spriting and engines.. noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo... Atleast i can make music quickly . do i have enough time to make something good enough... Find out in the next episode of... liljester is finally doing something.
Where is lastibility? Quantity doesn't matter anymore? In that case, someone can make 1 level which last 5 minutes that contain fabulous graphics, programming, and such and get the same score as someone who can make an equally good games with 10 levels?
Oh and about gameplay, about the "is it easy to pick up and understand / play?" part. Well, some games can be very complicated but once you pick it up, it's extremely fun. What if someone makes an engine with lots of moves like wall jump and such? It shouldn't decrease the points for gameplay but instead increase the points for gameplay.
Im gonna enter the competition with a solo entry I think, I'm glad that the competition has been started nice and early, to give us all enough time to plan the games and not have to rush them at the last minute!
of course you can submit 2 games... it's 2 games on your name, but it's twice the effort. And also it's not twice the chance you god damn retard, because 2 bad games lose when you can make 1 great awesomely made game that will win.
Yes im sure most people here would be willing to put in twice the work for MMF2 pro edition but it wouldnt be fair on those that only have time to make one game. Ive never really seen a competition where you can have more than one entry, are you from alabama?

And also it's not twice the chance you god damn retard, because 2 bad games lose when you can make 1 great awesomely made game that will win.
But when you made two awesome games, you still get more chance...
And what about the work speed? Some people work much faster than other ones and thus have more time to make TWO awesome games.
And next time, don't call people retards blindly like that. You should know I'm not.
I think that some of you guys really should learn how to read. The majority of your questions can be found at the mini site.
CYS: Regarding lastability, ideally more than one level if it's a game, but its really up to you. The more effort you put in, the more you'll get out of it. But to me, and most of the other judges, I would think that a one level game would be pretty lazy; but I'm not going to enforce a minimum number of levels. The prize of MMF2 should be enough for everyone to put effort in
All of the comments under each judging criteria are just points that you may wish to consider. You don't have to make a game that is easy to pick up and play.
Dave_C: Enter if you want. But stop being so damn arrogant
Perttu Tuovinen: No, do not submit it to TDC, it will not be accepted. Send your game to me via DC-Mail. You can however put it up elsewhere. This has been mentioned in the rules.
Dogzer: I actually forgot about Clickteam making Jamagic. Since I don't have it myself, I can't view the source (and even if I did have it, I wouldn't be able to understand it), so sorry, that'll have to be a no. I'll modify the competition page for that.
-LIJI-: No, you may not submit two games. This is clearly stated at the competition mini-site as well. And you cannot put them in the same application either.
"Where is lastibility? Quantity doesn't matter anymore? In that case, someone can make 1 level which last 5 minutes that contain fabulous graphics, programming, and such and get the same score as someone who can make an equally good games with 10 levels?

I was talking about engines, not gameplay. A very small part of what makes a good game.
I don't think Jamagic should ever be in TDC competitions. ALthough it is technicly a clickteam product, It doesn't operae in that kind of event-editor and active objects/backgrouund objects wat TGF and MMF does. In other words, it's a whole nother kinda program
Oh and Derek_Reaves, sorry if i offend you in any way but i wasn't commenting on your post. I was just complaining about the judging criteria (i still don't agree with the "programming" criteria but whatever).

" are you from alabama? "
no, i'm from israel.
If you have a pre-built game engine then yes you can use that if you want to (since engines are relatively easy and quick to make), but you cannot submit a modified game that you might have been working on in the last year. As I said to someone via DC-Mail, everyone else gets 4 weeks, so nobody should have a significant advantage.
Hi! This is my first post here, but I come The DC and check out games all the time. Theres always very cool stuff here. I'm entering the compo for sure! What an awesome prize! Who could resist?
I'm giving 100% on this one! With a prize like Fusion 2 Pro, I'm sure there will be some truly great entrys.
My mommy is helping me with my game, so you guys better watch out!
I've come back from the dead to make something for the compo. I posted this competition on a message board I hang around a lot nowadays, so some of the people I taught to use TGF there might join.

who are you talking about? cos i don't know no one that posted in this topic really good
I've been to busy to work on my app (blasted HMWK) but I think I will make a lot of progress this weekend. I think that the best part of this competition will be the many many games we get afterwards, they will probabally all be pretty good because of the AMAZING prize. I can't wait.
Not unblocking you, Dave I don't use MSN anymore anyway due to the massive amounts of people I get adding me to their list. I have a sekrit email address though
My "game" is already at 10 megs! Damn size restrictions!
Guess I might have to omit the voice acting, which would be a real shame. Other than that, my project is going great! I reeally wanna win. Any chance of bumping the size limit up to 20 mb? ..probly a little late for that kind of request huh?
I may need to pull out for family reasons. I'll see if I can get a small playable version done today, but otherwise I probably won't have a chance to finish it until after the holidays.
mine will probably be under 1mb. I like my games to be as efficient sizewise as possible. The gam file as it is now is about 210k but ive not touched it for about 3 days now.
well that's me out - my 3D efforts are muddled up (even though they are supposed to be) graphics are ripped (even though they are not - hand drawn) and there is a conflict between simple blocks as a platforn and the fancy top ( sorry) - jesus - who are these demi-GODS

Don't waist your time, or time will waist you!
Why does the competition link at the top of the site still link to that really old competition page rather than the new one?
It can't take long to change surely?
I think i'll have to drop out because we can't include installers. The .avi files won't work with the whole "appdrive + appdir + "filename" thing. It works with .ini files, yes, but not to _load_ .avi files to run in the game's window. WHY CAn'T WE INCLUDE FREAKING INSTALLERS? IT DOESN"T MAKE MANY FILES SCATTERED ON THE HARDDRIVE AT ALL! NOT ANY! they all go into one directory!
If you have the movie in the same directory as the game then, instead of:
"C:/myXmasgame/Movie.avi" you can have it say: "Movie.avi"... works for me...
Installers have been a long time regarded as a waste of time as they slow down people when they are quickly trying out a demo. It's only a small annoyance but an annoyance all the same.
can you not simply use appdrive+ appdrive to load the avi too?

yeah but i was worried i won't be able to finish it cos MMF started crashing so i restarted making the ***** ****** of the game (i did * so people won't steal my idea! )
well, neither of those worked Maybe it's the fact that it's an AVI file. Anyhoo, i'm back in porque yo hablo "SCREW AVI FILES!" I just have cool backgrounds instead for the titlescreen. no installers either!
If you're gonna make Floating Head Santa 2, please put some effort in
We only want entries by people who are really trying to win.
------------------------------
JUST UNDER TWO WEEKS. OH NOES!
Two submissions so far; they'll be added in the admin forum for all to evaluate once the deadline passes, and will be allocated an ID number. It's up to you if you want to include your group name/real name in the game. But don't forget, I require name and addresses to be seperate from the zip.
i have a question. with extensions, im using the associative array object, it comes with an installer. can i just include the installer for that extension or do i have to sort out the .cox files and runtimes files once its installed and include them. make it easy on me mofo's or i might not feel like finishing.
While we're showing screenies...heres some samples of my project. I still have loads of work to do. I'm starting to regret trying to tackle such a huge project on my own in relitivly short time frame. But I reeeally wanna win.
I GIVE UP! To many technical difficulties. I'm really unhappy that I can't win now, but I probably wasn't going to anyway. I was making an Automagic "Thank You" card maker. You just created a list of everybody's names, the present they sent you, and comments about the present, then make a template or select an existing one, then have it print or save all of your "Thank You" cards. I ran into major problems in the Template designer and I couldn't get it to print right, so I decided to give up.
wellllllllll i quit. too much effort. hamish summed it up pretty good saying i can get mmf 2 for less effort working a minimum wage job. i say bad time of year to have a compo, all the parties and things, gee wizzle.
heres what i made of my entry, theres more to it, (all 8 items and shit) you just cant get to it and i wont let anyone, in case i salvage this game (with new gfx and theme) some time probably never.
aight... so you can play it, crtl and shift do stuff, enter is pause to go to INVENTORY and shit... yeah, it was pretty intense but its too much. im just too pimp or something.
Dustin Gunn - Yes it is fog, lets just hope that we can finish it in time...
The engine of SB:XE isn't completed yet, but like 85% of the graphics are...
Then we just have to create maps and missions like crazypeople!
We wanted it to have LAN-multiplayer, but we won't have enough time for that now, maybe in a future update, sorry...
I lost interest when I didnt have a graphics artist & I couldnt think of anything that I could make in 3D, & finish in time, or have it look half way decent.
I'll have to finish my entry today. Going home over the holidays to my parents so won't have access to my computer.
Hopefully I'll manage...
Looks like there's some really tough competition, oh well atleast I will have finished a game of my own this year.

Meh. I really wanted to finish this, but... Too late.
The graphics I made were a good practice for me, though. The snowy letters became really nice and stuff. Guess I may release the Christmas next year or something, if I still create games with MMF (2), and when my skills are improved.
Three days! i really need to get started lol. Well i'm maybe going to rush out 3 or 4 levels just to get it done with no intention of actually winning. I never really did anyway.
only comment is: who wants to play a Christmas game AFTER Christmas? Suggest next year you guys set the deadline well before Christmas - only a humble suggestion ??!!
to start press any key ...... where's the ANY KEY??
Yesh, it would make much, much, much more sense to have the deadline say one week before xmas, and then allow games to be released once the deadline hits (not after the judging is done, because xmas games in june is kinda pointless).
I agree with that too, I bet it's going to take you judges atleast a month to have decided the winners.
Btw are we to recieve somekind of confirmation letter that our entries have been properly submitted? Would be boring if somehow an entry was disqualified just because something went wrong with the dc mail or something like that and the deadline passes.

How well programmed is the application? Are there any bugs or glitches? Is the runtime smooth? Is the engine versatile/flexible? How well organised are the events? Are they commented?
Okay...
How much does it effect to "Programming" criteria, if someone (like me) hadn't commented events. Because I never do it, I just don't need comments. AND I'm from Finland, so what if I comment events in FINNISH?!? And judges understand nothing. AND what if someone (stupid) makes a game with KNP? You can't comment or group events with KNP.
So, I won't comment my events. If it effects much on the criteria, I won't cry. I laugh, because if someone plays my game, he/she won't think "what comments the maker of this game wrote?!?" Playing is the main thing, or is it?

Uh, yeah. You don't have to comment your events. I said this in an earlier post, but the words under each criteria are just ideas and suggestions. Things for people to think about. It's all too easy to just bash out a game without thinking about it first. And if thats the case then the quality is likely to be poorer.

Yeah, I also have a swearing question. I used the word "hell" but it was in reference to the literal location and thus technically not a swearword, is that ok?
NOOoooooo!!!
The compo date really creeped up on me and so I haven't finished my game...
Actually come to think of it, I have never finished a game lately So many ideas... So little time.
But regardless, my younger brother was busy working away on a Christmas game to submit and guess what... The little bastard got his game done. So I have submitted that one off.
A screen shot of my Christmas game is below... It was, and still will be, a "new-age platformer". Basically there is jumping, hanging, falling, crawling, etc. but you can't kill anything in the game and there is nothing that couldn't really be real. Make sense? So if it is snowing and your in a t-shirt, you are going to freeze in a few hours... If you run into a den of wolves, you better know how to run and where to hide in order to escape being eaten. You want to try and stay alive for as long as possible or until you find what you have to find... Which would be Santa's shop.
Its hard to explain. I have recently been playing Prince of Persia One for the Sega Gen. and I got some ideas from that. A time limit which varies depending on your characters situation. If you stay in the cold you die faster. If you find warmth and food you can live forever... But ya... some other ideas are running in my head now, but they are hard to explain.
* So far I have gotten a 4 level parallax scrolling background. (Thanks to Circy's Tutorial)
* An awesome looking blizzard effect.
* Most of the character animations. (Took the longest time)
* All my graphics are original. (Damn pine trees pissed me off and still pissed me off... who would have thought pine trees are hard to pixel draw correctly)
* A completely custom platform engine (Made by me)
I have big ideas for it and so my time ran out for the competition deadline, but I hope my brother brings home the MMF2 . I also hope I finish this project this time but alot of work is still needed on it... Like alot more graphics... GAG! Haha...
But ya....
MERRY CHRISTMAS FROM CANADA EH!!!!
<nerd> Ah Radix, you are the boss of the world for featuring a gold dalek, if it's a new-series one (judging by the hedpiece), the colour is way off. Oh now you've got me angry for the fact the abc didn't buy the christmas special and havent yet got the second series .</nerd>

Damnit all to hell, this sucks. I crunched so hard before the deadline and then you pull shit like this? Now I have to go back and keep adding shit to stay competetive.
Klikmaster: What I was saying was that the Australian broadcaster hasn't got the rights to show the Christmas Special or series two yet. I know they'll get series two, but I'm guessing I'm going to have to wait to see the Sycorax.

I think that was sarcastic, but since you're a moron I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. The answer is, no you fool, read the rules:
"A product by Clickteam needs to be used to make the application. Anything else, like RPGMaker, for instance, will not be accepted. UPDATE: Jamagic doesn't apply to this competition."
isnt jamagic MADE by clickteam. quit being contradictory. let him use it if he wants. thats like saying you can eat a twinkie but it cant be made by hostess.
Thanks for the deadline extension. I was pulling out my hair trying to access the site on Christmas eve. But now that I have a bit of extra time, I can add a bit of polish to my project. Everyone should take advantage! It's amazing what a person can do in a couple days.
ffs, as if you could ever win anything with jamagic anyway. Dogzer's kidding.
I assume the reason you can't use it is because the judges, like most sane people, never bothered to buy a copy so they won't be able to check your source (and besides, just because something is made by clickteam doesn't make it klik).
Teapot: It's an old series dalek, I just had to tweak the proportions so it would work properly when you interchange the parts in the game.
I was just trying to think of the best time for the new deadline. Originally I planned it for New Years Eve. Is is really that much of a problem? Everyone else can still modify their games and stuff if they want to. If I made the deadline too close then a lot of you would probably complain for not having the chance to work on your product. TDC was down on Christmas Eve. You guys have another chance. Be grateful!
(And if TDC crashes on Thursday, I'm not extending the competition again. I want to get it done and dusted.)
I don't think I'll bother organising any more competitions after this one. I certainly don't benefit from it, in fact it just gives me extra work to do, and all I get are moaning and complaints when I try to do the right thing for everyone. It's not really on.
Anyone who already entered can just add more and resubmit their entry. It's not a bad thing. And the site was having problems, so not extending the deadline would have been unfair. Cicry did the right thing.
I imagine its a great deal of work hosting a compo like this one, and with all the flak people are giving, I don't blame Circy for not wanting to host another. It is a shame though.
Well im pretty sure the demo version of jamagic would be fine to view source code in, cause Ive downloaded it, its just a way more complicated layout then mmf or tgf. And im pretty sure (as i just read through the compo's rules again) that it says nothing about having to be "klik" but just that it has to be a clickteam product. And last i checked, jamagic WAS a clickteam product.
This is a klik site. We don't care about anything that isn't klik. The rules say any clickteam product except jamagic. You're just going to have to live with that.
Well I agree a bit with Hishnak though. I stayed up really late to finish my entry in time and now we got like 5 days extra. I could make a new game entirely in that time especially since I'm free now over the holidays and I bet alot of people who previously couldn't enter did so.
Also I'm now at my parents house and so I can't access my computer with MMF, if I would have known we would get so much extra time I would have brought my MMF cd.
Extending a day or so would be more appropriate in my book. Well I guess it's not the end of the world.
Knudde(Shab): Well some criticism isn't bad either, so you guys can run an even better comp next year. This year's compo is alot better than last years in my book. For example you have "Christmas Anything Goes" which tells me that you have listened to various crits...
Who else had no chance didn't finish their game?
I lost interest really early on despite actually wanting to participate. I guess I started making a boring game.
it makes total sense. they dont want the judges to be biased so if you submit your game to the public then theyll know who made it and then theyll be biased. get it
Well isn't the problem more like people will start going like:
-This game is so good and deserves to win
and then they might be influenced by that since people might rant about them choosing the wrong winner.
I agree with Radix... sort of. But we'll just have to see what the judges decide on. I'm sure that the project that should win will win. A good project is a good project. crap is crap. A good judge will know the difference.
I haven't played all of them, but the 11 or so that I've played (not judged yet) have been pretty well made, of course; there are a few that aren't up to par; but that's to be expected from a comp.
Dogzer is sexy, he can do whatever he wants.
This looks like its become a succesful competition, 23 entrants is pretty damn good effort. I've only played one of the entries and DAMN its good.
The results hopefully in a couple of weeks, it really depends on how far the judging has come. Since I posted, I've done two more, bringing the total to 7 so far. It's all too easy to rush and get the thing over with as soon as possible but it's a big prize and I don't want to screw anybody over.
If TDC is down when the results are announced, I shall also post them in the Clickteam and Klik-Me forums.
If they keep updating their progress, it might somehow hinder the progress. On the other hand, it might quicken the pace for the slower judges by giving them peer pressure.
My plan for yesterday had to change from "Finish judging" to "have catastrophic computer problem", but they're done now. As far as I know, the other judges are only a couple of games away from finishing as well, so hopefully the results should be up soon.
What I'll probably do is upload the results first - without uploading the actual files, to put competitors out of their misery. I'll then gradually add the links.

It's a very good question obviously.
MMF2 isn't finished yet so how can it be a full version? So if it is the same version that the people at the convetion were given they would have the same limitations like not being able to talk about it.
Well this is the last time I'll be organising any more competitions. It's far too much hassle. Really sorry about the games guys... but you know, this time it really is the other admins faults
Did you know the progress of the other judges? Did they even start to do their work? It's just too late, especially for a competition that has 23 (is it?) people waiting to get their hands on the results. Can't afford to have irresponsible judges around...
Another judge has told me he's finished and sent me the results (haven't got them yet though), and another is practically done. I might just post the results with four judges rather than five.
since we've waited this long, i'd just go ahead and wait a couple days or so more for the complete results, then we can all forget about the judging mess
The judges who hadn't sent in their results have reported that they'll be ready in a couple of days. (You can take this with as much salt as you want, but it's what they said.)
I've recieved another set of results from one of the judges, meaning we are very close to announcing the winner. I've decided that I'll upload the results and images first, and then slowly upload the actual games to another host.
Of course, if anyone is willing to give a hand and supply a download link (closed source) then that would be extremely helpful. DC-Mail me!
ooo this is getting exiting now. the quite confusing thing is there is no way of knowing how your game will compare with other peoples- there are a lot of awful games on this site, but then im guessing there are some people who really want that copy of mmf2...

Do you happen to lack the font 'arial narrow', Circy? I played through the game several times but never encounter the problem of texts branching out of the textbox.
I never saw the problem either, but the text was *very* hard to read, since it was clear-typed, which really doesn't work in fullscreen. I think you should use one of the sans-serif fonts really...
btw, does anyone know how to crawl in Christmas Conquest? While looking for the key, I've found that Left + (some keys that I won't tell you ) is a cheat
