Alright, so I've been working in Macromedia Flash for a year and a half, and I've never had a file corrupt. I've been working on a Flash Christmas Card. For starters, I animated it all on paper and since my scanner broke just a few days ago, I had to take cheap pictures of it with a digital camera and put it into flash. I traced over everything again in Flash, shaded it, and put it together. I was just finished scene three (I had spent all night working on the stupid thing) and then I go to work on it, and that one scene that took me forever to make became corrupt. I was fuming. I hated it. I wanted to put my foot through the screen. Eventually, the file became completly corrupt. I bit back the various curses I wanted to chuck at it, and I held back from e-mailing death-threats to the Macromedia people. I created the same movie from scratch, retracing everything (while making several back-up files), and it came back better. Then, on scene seven, the SAME SCENE became corrupt. I don't know what the heck I'm supposed to do, other then threaten the Macromedia people. Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what am I supposed to do. If not, does anyone know what could have gone wrong? I'm not going to touch the file, or any of the various backups, until tommorow when I can think.
I'm using Flash 7.2.

When I'm working on something important, I make backups... That's all I can say. You could try sending someone with flash the backups and seeing if it works on their computer maybe?
I havent had a problem with Flash like that, but maybe try out the Flash 8 trial. I mean it might work, it might not. Try a virus scan maybe? If that doesnt work, try reinstalling Flash. Do you have programs running in the background, that might interfear with it saving correctly? Or maybe programs that could be indirectly corrupting that particular scene? Not sure what I can tell you, but rather then sending death-threats to Macromedia, try 'calmly' asking Macromedia what the heck is going on here. If they tell you to update to 8.0, which I doubt they will, but if they do... just try it out. I mean they made the program, they should know whats going on, & if there heads are to big to help you out, then fuck em. Good luck with that though... if worst comes to worst.. try out Adobe Photoshop, you might not get the exact results, but atleast you'll be doing what the program was ment to do.
Yeah, I have Flash MX and I was designing a small little cartoon because, well, I was bored. Yet I really started getting into it and I kept playing back, smiling and looking in the mirror thinking how great I was because of what I had created.
So I look at the clock and think, damn College in the morning so I saved it and went to bed. While I was pretending to learn I just kept thinking about working on it again. So I get home, open up Flash and that is when the mother fucker became corrupt. I actually wanted to, like yourself, punch the crap out of my computer.
But yeah, it is a pain. That's why I haven't opened up either MMF and GTA in less than a year. I might go and buy MMF2 when it comes out if I hear it's more stable.
Hello, this is Michael Campbell with Adobe Personal Relations.
A recent google search for sites containing hate towards macromedia brought this topic to our attention. Although you Managed to control yourself in not sending us death threats, speaking of doing so in other places is also prohibited by law. In conclusion: We will take you to court on libel charges unless we receive a full apology. If this does not happen within ten days, this forum\'s administrator will be contacted so that we may request your IP address and trace you.
And if it isn't a joke, then this is ridiculas. Do you really think I would send death-threats? I was joking. Plus, I'm 15, and I wouldn't go shoot up adobe people just because this program didn't work.

"Flash is hard but at least I have Flash pro8 YAY"
what kind of reply is that?
It just shows me that you have no fucking clue what you are talking about
oh hooray i just warzed flash and i dont know a fucking thing about it
1) Flash isnt really hard
2) Do you think your animations suddenly get easier in flash 8?
actually flash 8 is HARDER since flash 8 pro is very new and has got a lot of bugs- the chances of crashes, bugs and that your files will get corrupt are way higher in your flash 8 than in Lazarus' Flash 7.2.
so stop being a show off.
if you have got the latest version of a program doesnt mean you can do the best stuff in it and the program will do everything itself.
