I'm a graphic artist, but my coding...or event editing..or whatever you call it is not the greatest. I would like to make an Arkanoid / Breakout style game. What I need is a solid engine with great colision detection and ball control. Sounds simple enough, but like I said I'm no 'programmer'. I've done a search for an engine in a few places, but all the ones I've found have been buggy and just as crappy as the engine I made. I would be happy to trade some custom graphics with the 'programmer' who helps out, plus credits and all that jazz.
Anyone interested?

Uhh, I'll go and give it a shot, and then you can choose to use it or not.

Sounds cool. Do you have any sprites or other graphics in mind that you might want for a trade?

I'll do what ever I can as far as programming in MMF goes. I sent a DC mail with more info if needed.

Well, I'm halfway done. Trig is giving me problems. Soon as I sort them out, It'll be done.

Thanks Peblo, I interested to see what you come up with. Even if I don't use your engine, I'll still do a couple graphics for you, just cause your cool.

See, I told you I was cool. Mine will be fully functionable, I just don't know how...safe the ball will be.

I made a basic DX Ball-style basic breakout engine over a year ago. The ball is aimed based on where it lands on the paddle, and uses a detectorless fastloop engine for ball movement and bouncing. The only real problem that I found with it is the zone that makes the ball go vertical when it hits the paddle is rather large.

I would go ahead Phizzy, your engine will end up better than mine.

Thanks everybody. I have what I need now. I got a great engine from a guy called Mikebtrfngr on Clickteam forums. He whiped it together in less than 2 hours and it works great!
Phizzy, you are also cool (if not slightly insane). I'll make you a couple sprites if you want. I might hit you up for some programming help in the future tho. Thanks again to everyone who replied and sent me mails. Cheers
