I want to let the user open a file from a list of files from a specific folder

I have tried using the list object load filelist command but it does not seem to work using the

Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "\folderx" formula

I have tried using the explorer object but that wont work using the above formula either

With the list object, do Open Filelist... with
Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "\folderx\"
if that doesn't work, do
Appdrive$ + Appdir$ + "\folderx\*.*"
