I didn't own a Nes or Snes but ive heard of Earthbound. Havent a clue what sort of game it is.
It is entirely reasonable to not have heard of the game though.
nice music though.

@X_Sheep: Yeah, they reused the music in Earthbound 1 for the SNES, in the intro. I immediately recognized it too as I played EB1 before I played EB0/Mother.
Thanks for the positive comments everyone, and I might remake some more in the future. Maybe of other famous NES games too. 'tis fun!
@AndyUK
Earthbound for Snes is a top-down adventure game, using the same engine as Secret of Mana(not sure which came first though so SoM might use Earthbounds engine.) I don't know about Earthbound Zero though, probably the same, I'm sure the nes must have been about to handle that.

I wanted to edit my post before, when the server just fell out for a few hours:
"Oh, and to clear things up:
There was an Earthbound Zero for the NES, better known as Mother. Then, for the SNES, another game just called Eathbound was released for the SNES. That game was called Mother 2 in Japan. This is music music from Mother 1 a.k.a. Earthbound Zero for the NES."
@Dark: You sure they use the same engine? I read on starmen.net (a reliable fan site) EB uses some unique systems... The gameplay's quite different too, so... Yeah.
Control style and feel is the same, same options menu, same power bar, and effects on weapons, EB might just be a tweaked version of SoM's engine, or SoM is an tweaked version of Eb's engine. I just tried playing EB last night, and it looked just like a rip off of SoM(there both by Enix so thats ok I suppose, and EB seems more "futurish".)

What I remember from SoM is that it has a menu with items that turn around, an outside battle system while EB has the battle menu, and the controls feel pretty different too... And the style is just plain NEW, heh.
Sooo... What? How can this be like SoM? I take you ARE talking about SoM for the SNES? Maybe you mixed up with another title?
Secret of Mana and Earthbound have different gameplay. Earthbound has a turn-based battle engine, while Secret of Mana has real-time. You sure you're not confusing it with Secret of Evermore? (of which is obvious that it used the same engine as SoM)
Ohh...wait...yeah maybe Secret of Evermore....umm, I played both of them that night so thats entirely possible...ok so which is the one with the meterite that landed, and your this one boy and you have to pick all the names for everything and the things you like? Is that earthbound or secret of evermore?
Oh well...my bad, yes then earthbound is very different then from SoM...man...I'm playing too much Alundra is messing with my brain lol.

Earthbound for the SNES.
Earthbound Zero for the NES.
Secret of Mana.
Secret of Evermore.
Secret of Evermore is not a ripoff btw, it was supposed to become the sequel to SoM but they decided not to make it a sequel. So yeah. But the gameplay of that game's similar to SoM indeed.
^ they did make a sequel to Secret of Mana, called Seiken Densetsu 3. That game never made it out of Japan though. Good thing there's unofficial translations
Secret of Evermore isn't a sequel or sidestory to SoM, it's a completely different game with the same engine.

I know there's Seiken Densetsu 3, but they PLANNED to make Secret of Evermore the sequel early in its progress, and they decided not to. I don't exactly know if I can trust my sources though (SNES gaming sites).
Yeah, in the meantime, I've started hacking the Earthbound Zero NES ROM. I'm making all the people bald! The hack will be called Earthbound Bald (duh).
yeh i was going to say many know mother for snes but hardly anybody played the nes version
so dont get that confused people
"You dunno what Earthbound is? Seriously? I didn't even have a SNES and I knew what Earthbound was."
"I hear it's almost the same tune used in the File select menu of Earthbound, which is a good thing " you are all talking about the snes version which is way more famous but not the nes version which the song is from
They reused more tracks from EB0 in Earthbound for the SNES. (some battle musics, shop theme, music of the first city in Earthbound Zero)

Yeah, more people know the SNES version. It's pretty logical as the SNES game had a huge selling campaign, while there is only one prototype cartridge of EB0... Which was dumped to a rom. There's no other way to play EB0 (yeah, maybe Mother, but that's the Japanese version).
I have played both and know that there's a lot of music reused (even remixed) in EB for the SNES.
