I need to know how to make an engine for a vehicle that is 2D Sidescrolling.

Basically, an engine that uses two (or more) wheels and the Hull of it (actual car).

Now, you might just say "use advanced platform movement" etc... but many times people just say "use" not "do this".

One very good example is "Halo Zero". I have tried to get in contact with the guy who made it, but have so far not recieved a reply.

Say the front wheel began to do down a slope, the front wheel would go down the slope whilst the back wheel would stay in the right place (on the ground behind it), also the actual HULL of the car needs to slowly rotate too.

I would also like the vechile to be able to realistically go over jumps.

Can anybody help me?

I've done something similar to this, essentially it consisted of treating two wheels and a chassis separately. I never use PMO. I haven't done exactly what you want; mine was for a blaster master clone.
All three shared the same horizontal custom movement, but the two wheels are treated separately for vertical movement and slopes. Both were 'attached' to the chassis though, and when jumping would inherit its vertical movement.
The chassis was positioned as some average Y point between the wheels. If you wanted it to sit at the right angle on hills, you'd just need to find the angle between the wheels (there are extensions that do this) and set it to the proper direction, or else use an active picture or something. Er, I'm fairly drunk atm and don't remember the ratio.

What you're talking about is quite complex. If you're any good at maths or really serious about doing this you could take a look at "Rigid Body Physics" (Google it).

I haven't played Halo Zero for a while, but I remember that while I was playing it I was thinking to myself that he faked the effect. It looked like he just used a custom platform engine, and for the rotation he just faked it, probably by using detectors at the front and at the back of the car and then rotating the car according to if the detectors were overlapping the background.
