Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows how I'd go about making a trailer for an MMF game? All I'd need would be a program to record me playing parts of the game, and I can edit it all together with my friend's video editing stuff later. Maybe something that would record the sections as AVI files? Any ideas?
Thanks!

If you can find CamStudio 2, it free and works great. Don't be fooled, though, Cam Studio 3 is not freeware; consequently 2.0 is hard to find these days, but you can find it with a bit of digging.
mmmmm? I have explored this idea ad infinitum - in the end you will not find a freebe that does the job! (in my experience) You will have to PAY in order to get the best result - so I hope you got some spare dosh?
to start press any key ...... where's the ANY KEY??
For the utter best results unplug a monitor where the game would be playing, stick the DVI/VGA cable into a HDD TV recorder or DV camera. Record the footage then send it back to the computer. No latency and a constant frame rate. It's just awkward to pull off in any short amount of time!
Elgato make some nice break-out boxes though. That's what I used for the Sam trailer; DVI from PC>Firewire>straight into Final Cut. But you can get a slight bit of latency with the conversion process like.
Like I said though- for the best results. If you want to make a little trailer then you'd probably be happy with Camtasia.
