So, I'm using the MCI to carry music from level to level. To get the music to work, do I HAVE to have the separate midi files in the same folder as the game? Or is there some way to like, imbed the music in the game?

I think that the only way that music can be embedded is through using the default sound object. Externalizing the files has many advantages.

Why not putting them in the folder?
MIDI-files dont take up too much space.

Ah, I didn't think it was a big problem. I just had someone complain about it once.

Just rename them MIDIs to a different extension and THEN load them with the MCI object.
You could also try to encrypt the MIDIs, have them decrypt when the game starts and re-encrypted when the game closes down.
