I was expecting a XBOX and it just got cancelled & now i'am given an offer to update my pc because few idiots at my house think that Updating is better than buying a XBOX , IGNORING! that the update will simply coz of games.. The update is thrice as much as the price of an xbox 
I don't want a pc update , retarded pcs always give me pain in the ass with all those lags .. in atleast some game.... i'am sad, please say something real good.. thanks

nah, i dunno about that.
Pc games are often better than console equivalents. For instance, you can buy Halo for the pc too and it's better if you have a semi decent pc.

i've finished halo around 11 times with a stupid 64mb integrated card .. everything looked like its painted white .. you just made me feel more horrible by saying that!
and unfortunately xbox dose'nt suckz, but hope it did

no , actually the first few times i played that i did'nt even know that the graphics are actually messed up ( coz when i said everything painted white i did'nt mean it , they still looked kinda professional ) as i did'nt see any screens or videos of it ( and i was too young to even notice that ) .. and when i knew that theres a problem .. the game was still playable with a smooth frame rate & that was the only game having such a stupid problem so i was forced to ignore it.. i hav'nt played it since a year or two now..

...But surely the whole point of getting a pc upgrade is so you can run stuff like halo on max graphics when you couldn't before. So whats the problem?

look, i'am not gonna ask them to get something not even equivalent to xbox for price as thrice as much of it
so what i can do is this i made an upgrade equal to the price of an xbox .. so as my current configuration is:
2.0ghz celeron
256mb ram
64mb intel 82845g video card
80g disc
can be upgraded to:
2.0ghz celeron
786mb ram
128mb Gforce MX series card
It'll run halo pretty well, no problem with that , but the damn XBOX can run HALO 2 .. will this shit PC be able to do that? , NO!

To be fair, PC games only really get lag when people put the resolution up to something like 1280x1024. I mean, thats suitable for running windows, but i usually run games on 800x600 for super smooth framerate... much nicer than having sharp graphics in my opinion.

 You're saying that coz you don't know what , what i've done about the fps .. from resolution & filtering anti-analyzing to triple/w buffer and multipass rendering stuff.
& just to inform you , i run my games on 640x480..

That upgrade would still be poor.
Celeron processors are quite bad because they are cheap budget pentiums. And Geforce mx are poor too.
Yeah, an Xbox would be better i think.
ive played a demo on halo on my pc and it ran quite shoddy on my beast. Maybe it's just got very high requirements.

The only true reason computers lag is when people don't take care of them. (Loading up the hard drive to 15% free being one thing.) I run games on 1024x768, 32bit, Anti-Alias all the time (including games like Prey) and I don't get lag. In all fairness, the fact that high graphic games are being released faster then the average player can upgrade, is the only reason why I see an console being of any use.
On the other hand however, someone with a 3 year old system could easily get their PC up past X360 quality with the money they would actually spend on one, let alone the original X-Box. Also, might I add.. computers don’t run on a system where you need to pay money to play online games in addition to your internet fee (which you pay with X-Box anyway) unless its an MMO like Everquest or World of Warcraft.
