hi again.
I was wondering, can a game of 800x600 (with parallax scrolling and fast moving sprites) actually work smoothly in MMF2?
I'm making one and it's working ok up until now, but I never see anything bigger than 640x480 in the click community. I chose 800x600 because I want to make a modern-looking game, and you just can't do that with 10x10px sprites. I'm not trying to be smart, and I'm sure there's a *reason* people don't go for 800x games.
Also... I know I'm pushing it, but is there any way I can display video or animation behind my 5(!) parallax levels in MMF without killing the performance? I'm sure my PC has more resources than that, it's an old P4 with a geforce64 card, but still...
Aren't there any more resources MMF can use up? How about the 3Dcard capabilities? RAM? Something!
Anyhow, I'm sorry if I tired you
kisses

800x600 should be fine - I don't tend to go above 640x480, as you said, but I can't see a problem with it. Just bear in mind that increasing the resolution does inevitably result in a slight performance loss - MMF doesn't have a startlingly efficient compiler (perhaps because everything is so high-level, and partially because of the lack of graphics acceleration support), so you'll notice a speed decrease more than with a lower level programming language.
The best suggestion, really, is to try it and see what happens.

I used 800x600 but now 1024x768. I've been noticing more games using that resolution too. I can't make the graphics great at 30x30px either.
