anyway,
@Wii Sports has some issues too. The punching in Boxing is especially dodgy.
Eh, that's because Boxing doesn't follow the wiimote completely; it checks to see if you moved your right hand, then it does the entire punch. Like, moving your right hand/controller thing activates the "punching" animation, to make it MMF-esque style. After that, nothing you do matters until the animation is done.
The Wii is extremely cheap for its power. Though so many things in this country are also extremely cheap for their power, just bought a GeForce 7600GS for only $115.
The Wii's games are a bit too simple for my tastes. Personally I'm more of a RPG, Total War player, though I enjoy any game with a good control system, like FIFA07, Virtua Fighter. So, I'll probably never get any console, instead I'll just stick with buying a PS-clone controller and sticking it in a USB port.
The PS3 is damn good. The XBox 360 is damn good. The Wii is also damn good by today's standards. But unfortunately, almost none of these consoles have any game that's 'damn good', or at least something you can stick to playing for a month, aside from sports sims. But a low-end PC can play those, and if you can read this, chances are good that all you need is just a bit of hardware to play those games.
The PS3 *is* ugly. They crammed a lot of hardware in it, then tried to make it sleek. Not good, but then again, my computer has its face melted off so it's uglier .
Microsoft and Sony are infamous for their profit-based focus, unlike Nintendo which is infamous for focusing on quality and being the underdog. So whatever happens, Sony/MS will be hiding the flaws in their consoles, while Nintendo will be way overhyped just for being the underdog.
Whatever it is... in 4 years, my PC will pwn all of your consoles .
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
You should probably look at the DS. Or the GBA that sold more than the PS2. You combine all Nintendo's systems sold from the PS1 launch onwards and you have no underdog. I never understood how they can be called that. If you're counting consoles then yes, the Cube sold marginally less than the Xbox despite the Xbox being the most powerful system, had online play and was advertised to high heaven. But they also have the GBA and DS. Should look at how much closer the DS is to world domination.
Muz, that's awfully nice that your PC will "pwn" my console. But I'll be sat back in on a lovely sofa playing something that has no spec requirements I need to worry about and run on cheaper hardware on a savvy 42" TV.
*I play PC games but have seemingly magical powers that lets me see both with equal merits.
