Well I haven't gone too far with it, but as you all may know with online, the beginning is the most difficult part. I've had this project for a long time and I've been testing alot of ways to solve things, and eventually made it work exactly as I want it to. I have a link here of all the files necessary to host your own server and to connect to the server you may test the client on. I will be in there so you can see that it is possible to see other characters move.
The Zelda sprites that are in this game are all temporary, and I wish to have them replaced with real sprites, and let all the character be double the size of that link character. I don't really demand a coder, but I do need people to decide how everything should be for me. AlphAdapt has it's own discussion board at www.martin2k.co.uk/forums, we have a server to use with the game server, along with a proficient FTP (no webdomain however, the group is only 3 people, and I am most active).
You don't have to understand everything, some of the things aren't even effective and I change them to the way I want them to work along the road. All you have to do is open the WireFrame Client v0.03 CoolDown edition, and change the Username and Password to what you would like to have.. Just tell me that you're interested and I'll create a quick account for you.
And btw, the IP you connect to is 195.66.52.214, and using a router might not work as you may be having problems seeing other users.

Why don't you add a create account button so that we can test the game without having to ask you first? I type in a random username and password, I connected to your server, but obviously could not log in.
Username and Passwords will be linked to a database later on that a website with a registration form will use to add user accounts. I find it not as well to make a 'Create User' feature through the game, as people would be able to add delimiters in their username and screw it up. Ill just create a username and password for you.
User: demo1
Pass: demo1
Ive created same thing for demo2, demo3, demo4, and demo5 for usage of you all.
BTW This version appears to be flawed >_< Just because I added the obstacle engine today without testing it properly. I will fix this tomorrow, all you can do at the moment is move around in the server as one person but not with others. Also, I did notice your login attempt.
I've solved the thing, but to be honest to myself, I don't think being able to move around in an area with other people is impressive enough to find some really good spriters.. I think I will continue working on the game and let you guys know when you can at least swing a sword and fire some arrows.
Edit: I already have a guy who can make the interface for me, so don't worry about that. All I need is spriters.
Other then that I just finished a new alpha version and tested it with a friend of mine. If you exclude the very jerky movement atm and that the stone obstacles isn't working exactly as I need them to, it has potential as I know how to fix all those things, Im just busy planning the whole game right now and organizing the code abit (although I always make it organized). If you're still interested, I can either work some extra on my alpha version or let us test it right this moment as it's being hosted 24/7 on a server I have at my disposal.
I was saying off hand that Harima Kenji rules. I can't try out your MMO game cause of the stupid blocking software here at work, I'll try it when I go invade my parents house on christmas.
Been taking 2 weeks break from Clickteam in order to get a new view, and now I'm back on track and I just solved a great problem I had before I took a break.
The beta is coming to you guys sooner or later, just know that it's far from over.
Until later on, I will have to bump this topic. People who are interested in spriting deserve to know something until we've finished designing the website. Sorry if it is bothersome to see the topic being bumped, but the project needs attention right now, as we do have the ability to make this MMORPG huge, but sofar only 1 spriter. Wouldn't it be a shame to let a good MMORPG go ruined because noone knew that they could help us out?
Funny you posted just now.. All my work was deleted in a harddrive crash today, on April 1st..
Don't worry though, I'm not giving up 6 months of hard work and learning on how to make an MMORPG, I've already started over, but it will take a loooong while to finish.
Oh don't worry, if I ever need a special part of my code I can always go to one of the office PC's I've been using at work But the redo feels important to me somehow, because I've learned what's needed to make an MMORPG, and will now start over with an engine that is alot more efficient that contains less events.
In order to go through this great feeling 'making it new and better', I require a decent graphical artist for my new aim in the graphical part of the game.. Which is making the resolution as big as 1280x1024, and making all the previously 'pixelated' sprites look alot more 'texturish', which means making them look cool and awesome for a 2D game. I dunno if I should ask for a 3D designer or a spriter for this task, but I think the guy who made 'The Lost Castle' made excellent buildings! O.O
Edit: Oh and it's a shame to know that you guys are all better than me in Click-products yet I'm trying to make an MMORPG.
I work with a friend to make MMO's mostly, we started making mmo's back with TGF, and now we use MMF2, wish we had MMF2DEV but it just wasnt worth the extra cash.
Well, i can tell you this much, do as many backups as you possible can.
HDD crashes seems like a normal day when you work on something good.
Ok i have read you post on makeing a MMO game.
I think i can help you out with the characters.
understand i want something from you to do this.
I wish a copy of all your work in a Raw format to build my own project.
I offer you my time and hard work for your time and hard work.
I have 100 of poser models i can build enny tipe of humen character you need.
I have a large number of animal and monster as will.
I have tree and building of all tipe .
i have space ships and robot and a number of other scifi model that can be used in a project.
Her is some pic of some of the model that can be used.
This model was render at 92x92

This Model was render at 128x128 http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/stormbucking/Demonprince128x128.png

This model was render at http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/stormbucking/Minotaur128x128.png
I prefer to work on 128x128 render becuse the render are clean and sharp looking and building keyfram sets from 12 to 30 fram depending on the tip animation frames that are needed.
If you are in to this Tip of deal and want to Talk about it PM me and we well have a chat on working things out.
MMF2 has the anti-aliasing feature, and since the whole environment will be strictly following the whole isometric system, I don't think it'd look too shabby having antialiased smooth objects in the game. If you're thinking of Super Mario RPG or something being ugly as hell, it surely won't be the same thing.
And the 3D models might be ugly if the environment looks all 2D-pixelish while the 3D objects are heavily detailed, but hopefully you will assist me in making the environment aswell. The characters dont need to look amazingly detailed in the small-scaled version as the environment isn't aimed to be extremely detailed along with it, more being a smooth and softish world (think of it as a kirby game with a smooth and soft environment).
Okey... but if the players looks like real people and the environment looks like kirby style It wont look to good I would sluggest to cellshade the players or something... they need to seam to exist in the same reality... well you need to decide a style/design for the entire game... is it childish or is it dark and allot of blood... I dont think you can have them both
Well, I haven't gotten a clear idea of how it's supposed to look in my head.. I just know that the ending result will be smooth with less reflective 3D objects, because since it's limited to 2D environment we can't utilize the reflection anyway.
Cel-Shading is just as fine, I will leave it to be up to the spriter somewhat.
ok it all come down to what one uses to build with and how thay use their art programs
This map was made with (Paint Shop Pro 9)(Poser6)(Bryce 5)
Pic 1 is a fare shot of the over all map.
Pic 2 is a close up and what one would see in game play.
It can look better if i put in the tree rocks and plaints.
i just wipe it up to show you what can be done with thee art programs.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/stormbucking/Worldmapmonten1mapdemo.png http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/stormbucking/testmontendemo.png
The cliff are made with Bryce 5 the grass was made with Paint Shop Pro 9 The character was made with Poser 6.
The trix to geting it all to mach is using Paint Shop to tone it down or even to tern it in to a cartoon looking graphics.
You can even render it in to cartoon character with in poser it self and bring it back in to Paint Shop to fine toon the over all look.
Though I'm very impressed by the terrain, as you can see the 3D models don't fit in well with the environment because they have different resemblances. The first image was better but the character model is still rather 'not' what I'd like it to be ingame. Considering my first game will be abit like 'Harvest Moon' but more online, I don't think I'd have much use for such complex sprites. If there are flowers and trees for that terrain and a slightly less details character that's abit 'rounder' and shorter, I would without a doubt work with your stuff.
PS, I read your email and I cant reply to it atm because its 3 AM, but I will get to it.
Will I am not looking to build your world GFX.
As for the maps not maching up thay do
what you see is a raw pice of art with a poser fram overlay put to gather in under 5 Minutes .
The mane reson it looks off is the angle of the sprite .
I posted it to show the user that it can be done I did not do it to make it look good.
'Harvest Moon art as in Fractal art work As in SNES art work
WillWill I do not think Poser art work is what you need.
What you need is a Fractal artist to build your Gfx.
good luck finding one.
Their work is not cheep and i do not think you will find one.
It take months of work just to dev one set of animation For just one sprite set.
It's fine for my work though, and I bet you'll make it look better in the end too.. I certainly wouldn't be able to any better. Of the others, you seem to be most promising.
Well if you want me to I could do a sprite sheet of the character I made... some walking animation and attack animation, defence... I dont realy have any thing to do right now so... just tell me if you want it...
Well I have to edit his angel a bit... you will se when I am fineshed with the sprite sheet... hm.. Do you have anything against AVI sprite sheet? (an avi movie with all the character´s animations) I have used this tech to import my sprites to some of my games... It works as good as a image sheet...
Just posting this becues the last time i rush my work and it did not come out right.
This is a pic of my ISO project call [Hell World].
This time it all machs and the key frames are at the right angle.
http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y254/stormbucking/DemoshotISOgame.png
I will be posting more on my project in a new therd ones i have a bug free Demo level.
At this pont i am still working out the Spirit animation Key frames for my game.
Good luck WillWill with your project i be keeping a eye out for it.
Thank you for showing interest, but I've seen people with actual talent and I respect them more for their dedication to it.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Thank you for the post back
It is you that is not talent or dedicated.
I am not the one Begeing user to build my GFX or game on this Site Willwill.
Try doing some of your own work and GFX befor you start posting about talent or being dedicated.
So far your talent or dedication is posting on this board beging user for help.
Big words, did you just pick the wrong time and place for an argue?
I was just saying that spriters are free to volenteer for my project, and I don't recall myself begging (yep, that's how you spell 'begeing') for help by others. I never said that I'm talented or dedicated in graphics either.
Nothing personal, but get your papers straight. I'm a coder, not an artist.
Heh, Will. If you want a proper artist for a game of this caliber, then you better be prepared to pay for it. Star Storm offered his (in my opinion very nice looking) work, for free, and you turn him down by saying that he hasn't got any talent? You sure are polite.
Incase you didn't know, those are 3D models that he has paid for. I hope that delivers the message more clearly.
This is a PM that he replied to me with. I've clearified the parts of his reply that was a quotation from my previously written PM and what he responded with as a part of his (amazingly detailed ) PM.
"[WillWill] I'm curious if you've made those 3D models yourself, because they look too good to be from the majority of Clickteam-users (nothing personal).
[StarStorm] No. I paid for the models on a number of poser sites over the past 4 years to build this project, and a number of other art pieces that I am doing.
Hear is a URL to a site I buy a lot of my models at.
http://www.daz3d.com/"
I've seen work from JFrudy anyway, and they look very promising..! Sorry anyway if I sound like I need something ready to wrap up in 5 minutes from a mona-lisa painter, as that has never been my intention.
News Flash WillWill their is more to building with poser than just buying the model.
One need to Know how to use the program in all its Forms to render and know how to build the animation sets.
Not only do i use Poser but i all so use (Paint shop pro)(Bryce)(Corel Draw)(Milk Shape)And a number of other Art tool.
Are you saying becuse you use a Click Game engine you are not a game builder or coder and your work means lise than some one using the Torque game engine wich one need to know how to Code.
Yes I buy my models and I support the Artist that make them.
Their is nothing Bad about doing this.
Try it
Will it is time to move on to other thing on this Board
I am looking for a real project building and for some reson WillWill
I think you are a Forum Gadfly and not a product builder.
I didn't manage to read some of the parts you wrote, but I'm guessing that you don't think I'm a coder if I use a click game engine. You're right, it doesn't. Luckily I'm only using MMF2 for hobby-related things, and not my main work, which is currently represented in VB.NET. You can still call me a clicker-noob if that makes you feel better, or something retarded like.. Gadfly?
Ok so you know 3D programs. Strange that you didn't mention this in your PM, isn't it?
Since we're getting away from the point (and I really just want you to stop hanging out in this topic), here's the clear text for you of what I said, and this is not the response to all the things you've insulted me of being after saying that one thing:
I don't think you are appropriate for this project, please move on.
Mods/Admins: Can someone lock this topic? It's outdated, and I have gotten in touch with people within the spriting target group.
You'll find that your topic request will work more effectively if you stay on topic. If you don't like someones work then I suggest saying "Thanks, but no thanks."
thinking is like pong, it's easy, but you miss sometimes.
ya, all you gotta do is say something about how gay it is that they banned phizzy a bunch of times, and it'll be locked pretty fast. although thats none of my business, that's circys business. i like both of em. but ya, doing that might not be the best way to lock this topic, eh?

wtf I've even admin alerted the topic and it's still unlocked. I've never had this problem before, GL man.

I hate Phizzy and this topic that is known to everyone as open is representing my hatred towards him and the apocalypse of banned users going back to life on multiple accounts.
