Welcome to the first in a series of "Difinitive" competitions!

You've already seen the pre-competition competition (Paradox: http://www.create-games.com/forum_post.asp?id=196033). Now it's time for the real deal. Please follow along below for the rules.

1) The time frame is from Saturday, August 11 at Noon EST, to Sunday, August 12 at 11:59pm EST (please convert the times to your local timezone). This gives you a smidge under 36 hours to complete your entry. For this competition, exceptions will not be made, and all entries need to be posted in this topic by 11:59pm EST.

2) Scoring / Reviews will be done by each entrant in the competition. You must give a score to each game other than your own. You'll have an additional 48 hours after competition close to write your reviews. Though I hope some will go into detail, the minimum required from each perosn will be a score from 1-10 for each game, with at least one comment per game. Please take the theme and completeness into consideration when scoring. Speaking of which:

3) Theme. The theme for this competition will be revealed at noon on August 11th. It will be chosen at random to prevent individuals from starting to work on their games early (though there is no absolute way to get aroudn this). It could be a word (i.e. Paradox), or maybe just a special constraint that you'll have to take into account. I'll try to make it as broad as possible, while still providing some direction / creativeness.

That's it for the rules. Let us know if you'll be participating below, and if you have any questions or suggestions, just pop in a reply. I'll be the first - I'm in!

So it starts at 7.00am Saturday morning and ends 7.00pm Sunday evening GMT. I won't be able to enter really, although I suppose I have got all day Sunday to do it (so that's 8-9 hours realistically).

@Sephirenn: "Welcome to the first in a series of "Difinitive" competitions! " - maybe you should spell it right at least, it's "definitive".

Haha, Matt - Yea, maybe one of the more spelling-sensitive admins could change that. Go on Circy, I know you're thinking of it

I'm at home for a total of 4 hours this weekend. So, count me in! I'm going to start working on an online moose fighting engine, just in case the chosen theme is online moose fighting. Always one step ahead!

Oh dear, all too often ive been hyped up about a competition then suddenly a stupid rule or crap theme has ruined it for me.

regarding rule no.1
I don't know what EST is. I only go by GMT. I know thats my problem but if i'm late i'm late. If you disqualify my game over needless strictness then you suck.
Anyway there is no need to be strict because there is no prize or anything.

rule no.2
Keep in mind we have to play the games before we review them. If i want to take my time over playing them i will.

rule no.3
Why give a theme to hinder the game making process? The theme should simply be anything made in 24 or 48 hours. Like i wrote in somewhere else.
It's hard enough to make any game in 48 hours.

So if i decide to make a game i'm going to break all your rules anyway. Sorry to be like this but there is no need for them anyway.
I'll be honest with you regarding the time taken (saying how much i went over)

So I'm excited and actively trying to do something good, and then I get comments like:

"If i want to take my time over playing them i will"
"So if i decide to make a game i'm going to break all your rules anyway"

I've got a great idea, make a game in 36 hours, and post it on TDC, no need to go hijack other people having a good time. Maybe if you changed that first comment to "Can you extend the deadline for review, because we're going to need a lot of time to score stuff" I would take you a little more seriously. I'm going to put up more competitions (at later dates), and I'm sure some of those will have no theme.

Moving on, the list so far is below:

Peblo
Greasy
Waffleton
SUMGOO
Kirby Smith
Phox
Matt Boothman
Nim
DJ Slink
Evil Kitty
LIJI
AndyUK
Sephirenn

We've still got a little more than 36 hours for applicants, so I'll update the list as we go along.

Just to restate, there are reasons for the rules beyond them just being rules. Otherwise why would I make up rules? If you submit your entry a little late (like an hour or so), its fine, but entries obviosuly won't be accepted if they're 12 hours late. The reviewing and scoring aspect timeline will be extended, but only an extra day or two, as I would like to have final results up no later than Friday of next week. Oh, and I can't spell worth a damn, haha.

AndyUK,

1. The competition runs from Saturday @ 17:00 GMT until Monday @ 04:59 GMT. Yes, it sucks for us Brits but, like the pissy summer weather, we'll just have to deal with it.
http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/time-zone/usa/eastern-time/

2. I'd like some more time to review the other games too. If we get 10 entries and I want to spend half an hour (at least) playing and reviewing each one, that's a minimum of 5 hours.

3. The theme is mainly to deter people from releasing any old game they've been working on for the past 6 months. It's also more fun to try and think of ideas based on the theme and can even help spark some new ones.

Edit: I can't add! >.<

Time until compo start: http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?month=08&day=11&year=2007&hour=12pm&min=0&sec=0&p0=1160

Time until deadline: http://www.timeanddate.com/counters/customcounter.html?month=08&day=12&year=2007&hour=11pm&min=59&sec=59&p0=1160

I think the scoring system is meh, it's too easy to take advantage of it. Just get some proper judges to review the games for us (CIRCY can do it!)

nicely stated nim. We will definitely extend the review time. We will accept late entries, but not too late, as that will make me awarding the prize too contoversial. And yes, the main point of the theme is to deter 6-month old games, especially when there's a prize at stake.

the scoring system worked great last time, maybe well change it for the next compo. I'll list the reasons for this below, so that you at least understand my mindset.

1) it gives an average consensus, instead of 2 or 3 people rating a game

2) final placing is by average placing (not score), so it hard to take advantage of (individually at least)

3) it gives everyone who participates lots of feedback. So those of us who aren't 'known' in the click community can get many more relative/constructive comments than they would by just posting the game on TDC.

As I said earlier, I'll incorporate much of the feedback so far into the next compo to see how that goes.

Could you please take heed of my comments rather than take offense because they weren't all nicey nicey?

I guessed the reason for all of your rules, but i can see there is still no reason for them.

Strictness over the time taken, Do you really think people are going to release a game that has been in the making for longer than 2 days? It will be quite obvious wouldn't it?

Theme That might seem like a good idea. However i have a better idea. No theme and let people get on with it. Why?
Well you see ive had a few ideas in my head all week for a game to make, and though i could simply wait until the compo starts and get going! But now? i had to wait to find out what the theme is, a theme i might not like. then come up with an idea for a good game (that could take a while) whilst the time is ticking away. That puts me off.

Do you really expect someone to release a 6 month in the making game? wouldn't it be obvious?

Anyway if a competition is what is needed for someone to finally get that awesome engine they have had lying around for years and make a quick game out of it, then all the better because we will get more games to play!!

Thanks for the time zone link.

Sorry to bitch like this, i'm frustrated with competitions that i get hyped up for for them to fall down based on rules or stupid ideas for NO REASON!

We should have some set adjudicators, its much easier to calculate winners then. Also, we might have different rating systems, eg. some people mark harder, which could drag down a potential winner.

Adjudicators wouldn't be able to enter for obvious reasons.

The point of the compo is that it forces you to make a game and complete it in a short amount of time. That's the reason for the timeframe.

As greasy stated, there's a theme in order to discourage people from starting on wednesday when I announced this.

What I don't think you realize is that the theme actually gives out a lot more motivation and creativity than it hinders it. Most people wait, and get many ideas when the theme comes about. The other thing is that, like I said before, there are going to be many compos in the coming months, and if I don't have themes, no one will participate after the second one because its the same thing over and over.

As for scoring, it is done by place. So each reviewer gives scroes, but you get rated based on your place within his/her rankings. So if they score hard (giving out only 3.0-3.9s for example), it doesn't matter, because first place will get the same amount of points as someone who got a 10 from a different scorer.

Again, next compo I'll change this up.

Question about pre-made stuff, though: are we allowed to use pre-made movement engines and the like, or does it have to be from a blank app at the start of the competition?

Yeah, I'm in.

A 36-hour compo without a theme seems kind of pointless to me, but I understand AndyUK's frustration here. It's just too damn hard to make a proper game around a word like "paradox". Abstract themes are okay, because they're often quite flexible and allow for many interpretations, but I think you should make it as easy for us as possible, if you want us all to stay in the competition.

Fuck this, you can take my name off that list. Ive lost the motivation completely now.

"The point of the compo is that it forces you to make a game and complete it in a short amount of time."

Thats the wrong attitude to have, we're having fun here, not being forced to make a game according to random needless ideas.

"As greasy stated, there's a theme in order to discourage people from starting on wednesday when I announced this."

Fine, i understand the reasons, but i still feel it's petty to be strict with this kind of thing. Why would we gain from taking longer on the game? Is there even a prize to be gained? NO!

"What I don't think you realize is that the theme actually gives out a lot more motivation and creativity than it hinders it."

Only if the theme is a good theme. Can you guarantee that?

"Most people wait, and get many ideas when the theme comes about."

Well we don't really have a choice about that, I for once don't like that idea.

"The other thing is that, like I said before, there are going to be many compos in the coming months, and if I don't have themes, no one will participate after the second one because its the same thing over and over."

I see, I don't think it is a good idea to have too many in a short time frame though, or we might get bored with them.

The 'Difinitive' (I think I am going to just keep the crappy spelling in place) 36 hour competition is now under way!

The theme is: 'TIME'

I know it's generic, but I wanted it to be as broad as possible. For some examples, you basically have the entire quick-game and arcade genre's to work with, as you just add a 'timer'. You also have some simplier inclusions, like maybe clocks or digital time into a game, or you have an abstract direction to take, like time-travel or time-reversal. And then I'm sure there are a million things I haven't thought about.

To comment on some of your comments: I think it's encouraged to start from scratch, but if you decide to use a pre-made engine anyways, I would suggest that you let us know when you post it, so we can take that into account. Also, concerning a 'prize', I think I stated earlier that there would be one at the end of this set of competitions, but if not, I apologize. Just keep in mind that I'm doing these mostly for fun, and to bolster the community, the prizes are mainly just for a little incentive (and to get people to submit their games, even if they don't finish them). I'll announce the prize structure at the completion of this competition.

The list of entrants is below, though the gates are not closed:
Peblo
Greasy
Waffleton
SUMGOO
Kirby Smith
Phox
Matt Boothman
Nim

But I'd already once entered a competition of that theme!

I guess it's all part of the cyclical nature of time...

Anyway, I just lost several hours to work, but I'll see if I can still cook something up...

NEVER end te name with 2000, 3000 or any *000!
It's crimes against humanity.
I won't download any game from Sumgoo anyway, It's probably so bad so it will destory the harddisk it's stored at when it's finishes downloading.

Please make a post if you're going to be late. The games will be accepted, but everyone should take the lateness into account when reviewing. I'll post another entry when its near deadline with a brief summary of those still in, and entries so far.

I started a game late last night, but ran into several unexpected bugs and problems. I had to work today and have to go in early tomorrow, so it looks like I will have to drop out of this competition.

At any rate, I've uploaded the game wip. It was going to be a helicopter rescue game where you had to fly into caves, find, and save people. There was to be a timer counting down how long until the cave would collapse. Yeah, probably a lame attempt to incorporate the theme, but meh.

Hey guys, here's my entry:

"One More Time"
http://www.create-games.com/download.asp?id=6815

Due to a lot of things happening this weekend, I didn't get nearly as much time to work on this as I'd have liked <excuses excuses>... Anyway, I think I've managed to beat it into some sort of presentable state. You'll find all the information on the page above.

Good luck to the guys who are still working. I'll check out the other entries tomorrow evening.

Thanks Sephirenn, that was fun

Street FIghter 2000: 0/10 [Reason: He finished it before the comp started]But it's still a kick ass game.

One More Time: 6/10 [Cool Music, somewhat relevant to the theme, smooth movement, plenty of challenging levels.]

Chronaccoon - 7/10 [Time travel feature to complete puzzles is awesome, sadly no music and sound, nice movement, white backgrounds are a bit unattractive.]

Timetravel Bloboid - 7/10 [Nice visuals, good strategy conceptualism, the jumping is annoying as fuck though]

Time Platform - 5/10 [I don't get it]

A Skater's Life - 4/10 [Silly movement, Ugly, Skating games are definatley not meant for Click programs]

Time Bomb - 5/10 [All right, kind of annoying, what are those blue things they throw around?]

The StreetFigher 2000 rar file says it was last modified at 17/06/2007 16:32
Also it's made by sumgoo.
Final Score: -10/10. Cheater! Also don't let him judge, he cheated.

Time:
The game is ok, but the graphics are pretty boring and there is not sound, or any relation to Time.
But you said you didn't have time to finish it, so mah.
Final Score: 3/10.

One More Time:
Fun gameplay, although it gets a little boring after the 6th run. The Graphics are great and the sound is very good too. The time relation isn't very clear, but when you get the enemy "AI" you get it.

Overall rating: 8.5/10.

Chronaccoon

Very fun! The scrolling system is kinda annoying sometimes. A background, more detailed shadows and sounds are missing. The relation to time is VERY good.

Overall rating: 8.5/10

Timetravel Bloboid
Awesome game! The only thing I hate it in is that jumping thing. Also everyone forgot music!

Overall rating: 9/10 - Nice!

I'll rate the others later

A review and a half have been written so far, and they are good examples, so take after those. Also, you can score your own game if you want, but the score will not be taken into account. You have the whole week to get your reviews up, until roughly mid-day on Friday (no matter what timezone you're in). If you entered a game, and you have not reviewed you peers games by this deadline, it will hurt your final standings. Rate the games honestly, and all you need for each is a coment or two. The final results will be posted on Saturday. Have fun playing!

My Reviews:

Clock Chase: 5.0
- Nothing out of the ordinary, but fun for a short time. Easy use of time. It was decent in all respects.

Street Fighter 2000: 0.7
- Nothing to do with anything, and barely even playable.

Time: 3.2
- Cool engine, but no actual gameplay that I could find, no directions, and nothing to do with time.

One More Time: 8.3
- Great game, absolutely a top 3. Great use of theme. The main problem here is that it got boring way too quickly. Maybe make it only repeat a few times, but have smaller levels?

Chronaccoon: 9.2
- Another top 3 easily. Amazing use of theme. This game has EVERYTHING going for it, except there's no sound!!!

Timetravel Bloboid: 9.5
- This game is the whole package! Great use of theme, sweet graphics, good puzzles. The only gripe I have is that there's no structure to progression. Not even a checkmark to show what levels you've beaten!

Time Platform: 6.9
- A great use of the theme, but really just an average game. It's on the upper level of mediocrity.

TimeBOMB: 7.7
- Nice graphics, and a very cool engine. Unfortunately the theme seems just kinda thrown in there, as I died much more easily from hitpoints (obviously I thought the game was a little too tough).

Time Wars: 6.5
- Pretty standard and not very inventive, but it got some extra points for humor.

Game of the Week WinnerYou've Been Circy'd!
14th August, 2007 at 13:40:13 -

Street Fighter 2000, by SPAMGOO: 0/10
Not even gonna bother with this one. It's obviously a joke, and a pretty shit one too.

Time Platform, by Mkingy: 4/10
I must admit that it's an interesting concept, and a pretty good adaptation of the theme. Unfortunately, there's not much variety in gameplay, so it doesn't really hold your attention for that long.

Chronoraccoon, by Fifth: 8/10
Graphics were mostly quite simplistic, but the raccoon sprite is exceptionally well pixelled and animated. I was impressed by the solid movement engine, and the smooth camera. The timetravel thing works quite well, and the puzzles are well thought out too. I didn't get very far though, as it got quite difficult to coordinate your "clones" after a few levels.

Timewars, by Greasy: 3/10
Heh, kind of lame to be honest. But at least it's pretty relevant to the theme. Drei points!

One More Time, by Nim: 9/10
Me like! The graphics are nice and cheery, and the music is great. It's fun to play, and quite challenging too. Only thing that bugged me was that the wall-kick was quite weak, so I'd often spend like tens of seconds just climbing those vertical shafts in levels 2-3!

Time, by fojomrtl: 3/10
Nice and retro! It's a good start, but it's not much of a game, so I can't give it more than 3 points.

A Skater's Life, by Sephirenn: 5/10
It's a bit short. Took me like five minutes to beat it. A few more moves (combos?), and some proper physics would have been nice, but maybe not realistic with the short timeframe. Five points.

Clock Chase, by LIJI: 5/10
Hehe, it's like an analog version of Mkingy's game. This one is frustratingly hard though, as it's almost impossible to get anywhere from the bottommost clock (default platform movement, grrr). The music is awesome though!

TimeBOMB, by funkbrat: 7/10
Man, this game is brutal! It's almost impossible to slash the enemies without getting hit yourself, and at some parts the game felt like a frickin' bullet hell shooter (with the only difference that the bullets were much faster than you, not the other way around)! But it was quite a fun challenge, once you got a hang of it. Not bad for 36 hours.

It's just poop because the rotating hands.

Awesome concept, and it's some achievement to have pulled it off well. It's missing a lot of polish - music, backgrounds, sounds - but the engine is there and it works. It took me a few goes to work out what was going on, but when it "clicked" I was very impressed with how well it worked. Being able to interact with your character from a previous playthrough is a stroke of genius. I love the concept so much that I'm giving it 9. Normally I'm shallow and such things like graphics and music are important to me, but I'm going to ignore them here because this is just so deliciously original - 9/10

Timetravel Blobid
Definitely the most "complete" of the ones I've played so far. Excellent concept cheekily lifted from Prince of Persia / Braid, but well executed and with a metric ton of polish - even a level editor for goodness sake. Looks like someone didn't sleep for 36 hours! - 9/10

Time Platform
Talk about subtlety: jumping around on a giant digital clock! I do actually like the concept here. I thought it was random until I noticed the "next time". I got a little frustrated with the platform movement to be honest. If it were built upon a better movement then it would be quite addictive. Perhaps even some math could be used to change the time depending on the times on the clock you collect? - 5/10

A Skater's Life
You know, in an "early klik game" kind of way, I enjoyed this and played right through the whole game. I like the use of time (as in "history" and "future"). Klik games aren't suited to skateboarding games, but it's not impossible. For what it's worth, this is probably the best klik skateboarding game I've EVER played! - 3/10

Time
As a helicopter game, I quite like it. It's like a flash game I'd play while eating a sandwich (and only while eating a sandwich). The time factor seems to have been wedged into an already complete game, however. There is a timer, but the gameplay would be virtually the same without it. I do like the game, and the way it has different "levels" (as in floors). The mini map is a nice touch too. - 6/10

Clock Chase
Pretty good, for the time you made it in! It's just a shame about the default platform movement. Points for: completeness, first!, and nice concept. Also, LIJI! \o/ - 6/10

Timewars
Basic gameplay, but it made me smile. Thanks for the mp3! - 3/10

TimeBOMB
Sorry, I couldn't download this because Tripod suck. I'd recommend getting different webspace that allows direct linking (www.googlepages.com) - SHEEP/10

I think it was Hayo, or maybe Shab, that had the idea of having a contest of the sorts like this, where one person works on a bit of a game for a bit, say a day or 2, then sends it to somebody else, who works on it for a day or 2, then sends it to the next etc.

Personally I like the sound of that, it would be very interesting to see the outcome, as each person would only see what has been done before, so as long as everybody kept what they were doing a secret (except for the person to receive the game) then the only person that would know what the game was like would be the final person to work on it.

People should do this. It could mark the start of a new era of clicking. A super era.
We would be a super group of clickers.

Street Fighter 2000: 1/10
No comment.

Chronacoon: 9/10
It was quite unique and clean. You can make movements and have them play back to get through the level.

Timetravel Bloboid: 9/10
Rather original, using a rewind technique to get through several puzzles.

A Skater's Life: 5/10
It just has you do flips and such in a specified time. It doesn't even have you roll down a slant or anything.

One More Time: 8/10
It's nice and complete, but playing the same level multiple times with more enemies each time is a little much.

Time: 3/10
Apparently you just fly around in a helicopter doing nothing else.

Clock Chase: 5/10
Nothing much besides jumping clock hands and collecting coins one at a time.

Time Platform: 6/10
Nice, but it could change unexpectedly and you could get trapped.

Time Wars: 2/10
You just stay out of the way of the bouncing clocks.

Also, for my entry, TimeBOMB, I do hope that your reviews are based on the contest (attached) version and not the fixed version, because the contest version was what was done in time for the deadline.

Clock Chase ( 5 / 10 )
Why is the file "CS" if the game is "Clock Chase?" I just noticed that...
Anyway, once I got the hang of the bizarre movement (such a small jump... yet such wild horizontal accelleration) and how to get from the lower clocks to the upper ones, this game became an interesting little play. Not particularly engaging, though, but kind of an interesting use of the "time" theme. It seems to have a very "V-Cade game" feel to it...

Street Fighter 2000
So, this wasn't a legitimate entry, right? I've got no obligation to judge it?
Cool. Let's move on.

Time ( 2 / 10 )
Ah, the "Unfinished One". What's there is solid, and the graphics are cohesive in their retro style, but the game is little more than an engine at this point, and has no current relation to time.

One More Time ( 9 / 10 )
I thought the idea behind this one was really cool, and the style of the presentation (the little sumo character and the "yaaay!" and "booo!", and the music) gave a generally happy feel. Except it is quite an evil game. Having to avoid your previous runs becomse quite difficult quite quickly as the routes get congested with fireballs. I think it could have used a little more tweaking toward the "kind" side of things (like some adjustments on the movement, or making the collectables a bit larger, and easier to hit while falling), but I believe this is my favorite of the bunch.

Chronaccoon
Wait-- I'm not supposed to judge this one.

Timetravel Bloboid ( 8 / 10 )
This game is seriously quite impressive, considering the polish, the editor... everything is very complete and professional.
The "time" theme - rewinding - is pulled off rather well, and there are a number of unique ways in which it's incorperated into the challenges. And there are some hard levels.
But what's with the long charge before a jump? I don't know if it was for the sake of realism or the difficulty of the puzzles here, but I REALLY don't think such a thing was necessary in this game.
On the whole it was a pretty great game, but I still had more fun with "One More Time".

Time Platform ( 5 / 10 )
This game reminds me of that one scene from Futurama whenever I play it. An interesting little concept as far as the "time" theme goes, but there's ultimately not a lot to it. Another one I could see in the V-Cade (is it something about walking on clocks that does it?)

A Skater's Life ( 3 / 10 )
Hrm... With the exception of one level, there was never any reason to actually move from side to side; everything could be done from a perfect standstill. I can't imagine that it really captured the feel of skating (though I know very little about skating), outside of the moves' names, which ensured that I never knew which button to press. Plus I don't mean to be so critical, but as far as the theme goes, a simple time limit isn't very much.

TimeBOMB ( 6 / 10 )
As far as the "racing against a counter" concept goes, this was a pretty good shot at it. The frantic collection of time isn't bad, but this game seriosly needs some tuning. And the bullets backlogging is also something to deal with.
I had some fun trying to beat it, but I never got to the end (is that one jump even possible?)

Time Wars ( 2 / 10 )
Well, I guess you made this in only a few hours, and I guess that's something.
But there's no reasoning behind the gameplay. If you're going to obscure so much of the screen by large, fast, untouchable objects, you have to give the player quite a bit more mobility. I only beat this game (and I can't believe I went through the trouble) through technicalities.
Overall, it was very thrown-together.

Guys, thanks for all the great feedback: axel for the comments about wall-jumping and Fifth for the bigger coins suggestion and everyone else about it being too much with more than 5 fireballs. I plan to spend more time on my game, taking all of these into consideration and release a full version.

[Edit: Fifth - I realise that it's not mentioned anywhere, but you can press Down to stop your horizontal movement in mid-air, making it a little easier to catch coins while falling]

fojomrtl: The replay recording and playback isn't as complicated as it might look; only 5 events for everything, if I remember correctly. It basically records every key press in an array and each "run" has its own z-index.

BTW, I'm genuinely surprised that we didn't see one "Matrix bullet time" game in this competition!

I'd love to discuss the "chain game" idea, but in another thread. Admins/Clubby: How about a competitions forum?

clock chase:
Not bad effort; had music but replayability suffered from long time to restart.
7/10

Time:
Didn't really understand what to do... i suppose unfinished says it all :]
4/10

One more time:
Great use of theme. Addictive Gameplay, definitely one of the winners for me.
8/10

Chronaccoon:
Interesting, fun and well themed. Awesome concept and highly addictive imo.
10/10

Timetravel Bloboid:
Very good use of theme, complete and extremely nice visuals. Lacked music.
9/10

A Skaters Life:
Visuals were lacking, although there were some nice effects. The music was there but didn't really relate to skating. Good effort however at a skating game, they are hard and probably quite impossible...
5/10

TimeBOMB:
wasn't able to download
Tripod/10

Time Wars:
Was humourus. Strange game although was nice to abuse the default platform engines wall jumping feature again!
6/10

Ratings mean squat about the quality of the game other than what i thought in comparison to the other games... (better themed games were preferred)

The results are in!

First, I should explain the rating system in a little better detail. You were given ranking points based on your place relative to other entries, for each reviewer. For example, if you look at my rankings, I have Bloboid in frist, and Chronoccoon in second, etc. So Bloboid got 7 points, Chronoccoon got 6, etc down to 0 points for eighth place. Then we add up the points and get results. For a tie, you add up all points, and then divide by the number of entries tied (if Blobiod and Chronoccoon would have tied, they would have gotten 6.5 points each).

Second, forjomrtl and LIJI both either didn't do any reviews, or didn't finish their reviews. As a result, they both had one extra score, and as a penalty, they're highest score was removed as a penalty. This resulted in both of their entries losing one spot in the final standings.

So here we go....

Eighth: [2 points] Time by fojomrtl
Seventh: [5.5 points] Time Wars by Greasy
Sixth: [12.5 points] A Skater's Life by Sephirenn
Fifth: [14.5 points] Clock Chase by LIJI
