Would anyone like to beta test my new app? It saves and generates all your passwords for you by encrypting them using the Blowfish Object. If anyone would like to test, i'd like you to let me know:-

1. How easy you found the app to use
2. How secure you thought the data was (try and have a go cracking the app)
3. Do you think the app is missing anything?
4. What you didn't like about the app

Anyone who does beta test and provides me with the feedback above, will be sent a free full copy of the app once it goes live.

If anyone is interested, please either leave your email address here or PM me.

Many Thanks in advance!

Steve

Is there an MD5 object perhaps you could use for the master password? Blowfish encryption might not be too safe anymore nowadays.

I think Blowfish is perfectly OK, i've never seen any articles discussing any issues with it?

Bruce Schneier now recommends against the use of Blowfish. In December 2007, he said, "At this point, though, I'm amazed it's still being used. If people ask, I recommend Twofish instead."

The problem is that Blowfish is old encryption, and techniques to crack it have been around for quite a while now. Time to use some NEWER, MORE SAFE encryption.

Note that Blowfish encryption isn't something MMF-specific, so it's been played around a lot with (by hackers etcetera).

I think the safest place to store passwords is in your brain.

If you think you'll forget it, say it over and over 66 times.

If you think you are going to forget it make it something like "Remember" or "Forget"

Or, better still, set all your passwords to 'password'! No-one will ever guess that!
