I spend an hour uploading 111 digital holiday snaps, right?
I order them, select 'pay by debit card', enter my details, and get forwarded to the outsourced Billing page.
Then, I notice that they've formatted by address like this:
House Name Street Name&&
ZZ00 0ZZ Town County
UK
(obviously with the details filled in, lol)
So unsurprisingly, they come back (having also not asked my security code) with a "transaction failed". Except that the Pixmania 'thankyou for your order' is still there. So it's like:
<tiny text>Transaction failed, try again later</tiny text>
THANKYOU FOR YOUR ORDER!!!!!!11!!!
DID YOU KNOW THAT YOU ORDERED:
[outline of my order follows]
I only noticed the tiny 'failed' sign because I never received a confirmation email (so I'm assuming I won't get my 111 photos anytime soon), and checked the page.
So anyway, bearing in mind that the bodged 'order summary' screen comes with no order number and therefore no specific way to reference my query, I embark on an epic journey to find out what went wrong.
The phoneline is an 09 number, costing 10p/min, and only works between 8am and 4pm (what the hell time to close an office is that!?) Mon - Fri. So not doing that.
The obvious alternative was email, and no email is given. Only an online contact form. That's where it gets frustrating.
They ask you to read the FAQ first, obviously, to avoid wasting both their time and yours. That's good in concept at least, but the execution (mmm, appropriate word) not so. The address for the page is http://www.mypix.com/uk/uk/faq/, right? Note the *double reference* to the letters "UK".
So can anyone explain why it should appear in FRENCH!? ANYONE!? WHAT THE HELL USE IS A FRENCH FAQ TO ME!!???
So the only option left is their report form. You have to keep selecting more boxes before it lets you write anything - to try and narrow your request down.
But is there one to even remotely describe my problem? Of course not - because they're french. So I have to basically choose an option that says "I want to change or chancel an order" and explain that actually there is no order, which is kinda the problem.
And, given all this, now imagine trying to explain it all in a mere 700 characters.
ARRRGHH!!! USELESS, POINTLESS, MINDLESS, PURPOSELESS, VALUELESS UNLOVED CRETINS!! How come 6 million innocent people were massacred by the nazis and yet somehow these idiots live!? Where is the justice in that!?! I'd half expect them to have a small footnote at the bottom of every page: "Proudly run, managed and organised by braindead bunnies from Geneova".
They also said I can expect a response in 24 hours. Which presumably means I'll get a message in June simply saying "Pardon? - Parles-vous francais?"
Pixmania? They buggered up my SLR camera order. I bought a 350D pack years ago, one of the more pricey ones (loads of accessories). So yea the camera took a month to arrive, the memory card (4gb microdrive) didn't arrive for 3 months. I even sent off for a free 256mb card from Canon and that arrived first! We rang and rang but they didn't do much.
Different reasons than yours though.
No sir I don't like them, but apparently they're a good place to buy iPods from *shrugs*.
