Hmmm.... i've ditched the game project i was working on and i need an idea for a new game. Problem is, i've gone completely brain-dead of ideas ;_;! Anyone have some suggestions?
I've got plenty. What genre of game do you want to make? How much effort do you want to put into it? Any themes you want?

Yeah, an action platformer would be fun. I reckon i would like to put a decent amount of effort into it and i'm not entirely sure about the theme - i can't even think of that !
Neo Monkey already has the puzzle game. You can't have it!
Heh, I'm not so good with platformer ideas. No wonder you can't get ideas. Here's one.. a futuristic/modern robocop like one. A rambo-like guy tries to stop terrorist-rebels. The terrorists are armed with mid-tech gear, from AK-47 to scavenged turrets. Oh, wait, make it a girl, to appeal to all gamers. Girls like playing female chars, guys like drooling over a girl with a gun
First few levels: She fights outside their bunker.
Second few levels: She gets into a series of terrorist caves and kills them in there.
3rd part: She goes in, kills the boss, and goes back out.
4th part: While leaving the base, she actually comes across the real boss, which is a badass guy hiding behind a mech/combat suit bought from the country that the girl is working for. Surprise!
5th part: In killing the mech, it self-destructs, creating a Prince of Persia or Max Payne style escape level, where you have to run out of a collapsing cave.
After leaving the cave, the girl goes home and boom.. some terrorists blow up her helicopter. Talk about irony. She gets assembled from little pieces and becomes a cyborg. That's for the sequel.
If you want to add something special to it, give injuries some attention.
Light wounds can be healed fully. Nothing happens. She can stitch herself by holding down a button for 3 seconds when not under attack.
At medium life, the player will need special healing. She can stitch herself by holding down a button for 10 seconds near a medi-kit, when not under attack. She moves more slowly when not healed.
At low life, the player can only heal at a proper medical facility. She moves slowly and has a poor rate of fire.
The game will overall be easy, but it's more fun because the player will be looking to avoid injuries and find safe spots to heal and the boss fights seems a lot harder than it really is. To assign places where she can't heal, just make enemies pop up from the edge of the screen when she's idle for too long, which would cancel her healing. What I like about the concept is that you could heal light injuries almost anywhere and many times, so you don't have to worry about "running out of medikits".
Or.. you could just make it a typical platformer. Much easier to code that way
